Cop magnet?
Hi,
I'm strongly considering purchasing a Z in a few months. The thing is back when I had my Mitsubishi Eclipse, I used to get pulled over a lot more frequently than I do now in my boring Honda Accord. For stupid things, too...not just the way I drove.
Do cops hassle you in a Z in the same way they do for Camaros/Mustangs/etc.?

... I don't get it. If you're not guilty/hiding anything then who cares?
Personally I have only had good experiences with my 350 and the cops. All the cops I have interacted with in my Z always love it and want one. And always let me off with not having a front license plate . That being said I'm always very nice to cops, I think they appreciate it getting a break from all the *******s that think the police are just out to get them.

Yeah, cops will give you a second glance but they will not and can not pull you over just because the driver is young and he is driving a sports car. There must be a valid reason to pull someone over.

I had a 424whp Talon when I was 23 and was never pulled over. If you drive like an idiot and have idiot mods on your car then you will get pulled over and hassled by the police. if you are hanging out your window, loud music blaring and have 3 buddies all in the car pointing and whistling at every girl on the street and you are obviously not paying attention to driving... Guess what? You are going to get pulled over. Thats what kids in cars do, then they wonder why they are being pulled over.
If you drive properly and do not have mods on your car that attract attention then police leave you alone. Basically cops know you are not 23 because you are not acting like a 23 year old.

Any car can be "magent" for cops. A lot depends on the driver and how they operate their vehicle. Some people just drive careless and that is what may get the attention. I know you have seen several post on here before about people wrecking the Z trying to drift, or doing burnouts in parking lots, and etc. How do you know some cops don't own Z's

Some people will always look for a fault outside their own to explain why something did or did not happen. They will continue to do so until they learn to accept personal responsibility for their actions.
