That's ridiculous.

He needs some test pipes and an exhaust and maybe intakes and it will run 12s with a good driver.

I beat the 335i auto and I have a revup. Not even a tune.

your posts are the highlight of my day lol.

370's were making around 350ish whp w/ full boltons yes? (been outta the loop lately)
i think w/ slicks a hgher 12 is possible. driver needs to pracice launch control etc before you go out. remember though, the track grips a whole ton different than the street

yeah, gears, exhaust,HFC, intake, pullies, tune, I think maybe headers too...well close to full bolt on I guess. just barely missing 12.7 is nothing to sneeze at in a Auto. with slicks i can see maybe an extra .2 I still think 12.5 is a definate possible.

370Z already runs low 13s. And the VQ37 responds extremely well to mods - such as test pipes and exhausts. Naturally when you add things like test pipes and a new exhaust, you're also shaving a good amount of weight off the car (OEM cats weigh 15-17lbs each, vs 1lb for a TP) - so the weight reduction happens eitherway.

But yeah, I think with test pipes, true-dual exhaust, and a tune, the 370Z will run a mid-12 no problems. Even though the 335i may put out more power, it also has a lot more weight to carry. A 370Z weighs anywhere between 3350-3400lbs, meanwhile a 335i weighs ~3600lbs. And if you get the hardtop convertible, it's over 4000lbs. If you get the AWD coupe, it's 3800bs.

I bet with a good driver a 370 can run mid 12's with just slicks.

A bolt-on 370 (330ish whp) should be able to run 12.2-12.4 on a real tire. They make enough power to pull 1.7 60's. Not enough on the track to see if the suspension, etc will transition the power effectively to the ground, but high 1.7's are probable.

You're quite the $hit talker

I'm a see it to believe it kind of guy, you can sit there and say " it should be able to run 12.2-12.4 on a real tire", but until it actually happens, you shouldn't be so cocky.

This
the same exact thing can be said about your argument, untill you see it, you cant discount the possibility... and the fact that one with bolt ons has already run a 12.8 on street tires, def. shows promise... I really would not be suprised to see one run a 12.6 or better on good rubber...

True, which is why I think people need to quit the whole "it should go XX.XX" or "with this mod and that mod it can run a XX.XX"

How about just stop guessing, and run the damn car

Alright.....a high 1.7 (more than doable with a competent driver on DR's/Slicks) and traps of 110-112 (which I believe has already happened in the run referenced in the post above)=low-mid 12's.

The 370's added power will allow them to accelerate through the first 60' quicker than a lesser power 350. There have been a few NA 350's that have run this quickly in the short timing mark. The question will be weather the chassis/suspension allots enough weight transfer to the rear. The suspension is stiffer, but that is always a bad thing.

While you are right that it hasn't been done.......I would put generous bet that you will see a 12.2-12.5 from an NA 370 before the end of 10'.

Then again what would I know I only made 155 passes this year.
