Thinking of trading in my 350z for 370z.

I also traded up to a 370 from an 05 350. There was a noticeable difference in performance. From an 08 it may not be as noticeable straight line wise, but it will be with grip, braking, handling, interior quality, and the biggest plus I think is, exclusivity!
Honestly, if I had a paid off 08 I doubt I would get the 370, but I had a paid off 05 and it made perfect sense for me

I went today and got my car appraised. They offered me 21k. Not bad. They didnt have the color I wanted. They said the cars at a diffrent dealership and that they would call me when the car arrives. Then I'll deal.

Agreed. Never talk about your trade-in until you negotiate the price on the new car. There are often incentives (published or non-published) that they may or may not tell you about, so want to get you that warm fuzzy feeling about your trade-in to get you into the dealership to buy a new car. I bet if you negotiated a fair price on the 370 (like $500 over invoice), they wouldn't give you much for your trade-in. Make sure you search on Edmunds for current incentives. You just missed a huge one in March, as they were almost giving cars away.
A high trade in value translates into less negotiating power on lowering the price of the new car.

You should always negotiate the new car's price and say you do NOT have a trade-in. After you get the best number you can, then you bring up the "oh, ya know, we'll trade my wife's car in on this one" or some such nonsense

hell yes, I found a 2006 CTS-V with 14000 miles for $24,000. Its an auto (yuck) but straight line performance easily smokes my slightly modded 2005 Touring 6MT. Then I turned left... Body rooooollllll......heavy. But hey, Ill see what the fiance says. I could live with it. Might be able to keep my Z too. Muahhahaha!!

It's all about the money. If you have money to spare after the 370Z, then get it. If it will make you tight on money after. Don't. You will regret it a year or two down the line when the car isn't new and you owe $600 a month.

My advice...keep your car...it IS your car now and has plenty of life. Why take a huge step backwards financially for a fat a$$ed, weird looking car that has an additional 18 hp?
Them are facts, too partner. No BS.

I think what makes this car more rarely seen on the road is the price tag. $40k for fully loaded is a big pill to swallow when you could get a 350z back in the day for $32k fully loaded, or an enthusiast model for a shade under 29k.
