09 370z or 05 Vette
#161
I traded my 350z for a ls1 vette 6 months ago and could not be happier.
On my 350z I had only CAI, Injen Catback and a racing clutch. before I bought my vette I tested numerous 370Z including Nismo version and was disappointed and surprised at the same time to find that my 350 was a bit faster than 370. Nismo felt same as 370. I guess cause it is heavier even though has a little more power.
When I came to Chevy dealer I only came to test drive a a vette just to compare it to my 350, I bought that vette 2 hours later. I have put in CAI, LT headers, x pipe, flomaster mufflers, and a full scale dynojet tune from XXX Motor sports making now 340 HP at the tire and 355RWT which is very close to what a 05 vette with ls2 motor will have and I can tell you my 350z would not be able to keep up with it even if I used only half the throttle. We have a lot of people on our forum that came from 350 or 370z and all of them are extremely glad they did. If you can afford it, buy C6 and you will not regret it.

Got the 2007 Vette
Ok Everyone after about 2 weeks I finally made my decision and went ahead and bought a different Vette. The one I bought is a 2007 LS2 Vette with only 32K miles on it and I bought it for only 28900.00. I drove a 370z and felt like it was no comparison to the Vette at all. Here are some pictures of the vette for your viewing pleasure!

CONGRATS! I was in the same dilemma..i had an 06 350 with nice wheels/drop/exhaust but just was wanting more power. I drove both a 370z and a c6 and athough the 370 felt more nimble it's hard to wipe that grin off your face when at wot on a vette! i got a loaded 06 c6 with both painted/glass top 3LT with nav/heads up display with 13k miles for 33.5k! i added just intake/mufflers only/with tune and i ran a 12.2 1/4mile on street tires in my a6 auto. just with drag radials i would probably be in the 11's! i'm a car enthusiast so i love both the corvette and the Z's.beleive me if i had the money i would have a 370z along with my vette in the garage. it all depends on what you are more happy with. the vette is just a beast! go to forums.corvetteforum.com for a great corvette forum. congrats again and enjoy her! here's mine!

Can you send me to the link that your purchased your HID fogs and how easy are they to put in? Also, what type of mufflers did you go with and how does it sound? I dont want it too loud when cruising but I want it to turn heads

i got the magnaflow axelback exhaust..it's a very low tone that sounds a little louder than stock with a slight rumble and at wot it just screams..so a good exhaust if you don't want it loud while cruising but can be heard if you open it up..my clip is below and it sounds even better in person...here is a link where you can purchase it from new but if you check the forums you can buy them used sometimes for half off.

You really think that everyone thinks or has the same likes and dislikes as you do? EG: For around the same money, why would anyone in their right mind buy a base 997 when you can get a 911 tt eating GTR?
Get a clue bub, it's not all about speed..
Fixed: The choice is an obvious one to any guy that always whines " I only want the one that's fastest "

The C6 out brakes, out handles, and out performs the Z in every which way. If you get the Z51 package say goodbye to the 370Z. I don't really enjoy the looks of the 370Z anyways. I love the 350z HR's frankly, they were the best IMO. When it comes to a corvette though, the Z doesn't compare. It's like apples and oranges.

It's finally time to sell my beloved 350z. I need everyones opinion on which route I should take. Heres my situation. I have the opportunity to buy a 2009 370z sport with 6k miles for 28k. I also have the opportunity to buy a 2005 Corvette with 55k miles on it for 25K. Knowing that the corvette has way more HP than the 370 this is why I am having a hard time deciding. Both cars are in immaculate condition and have been taken care of very well. All have clean car fax reports and are nearly identical in condition. Please help me decide.
Thanks

Everyone who praises the Corvette always talks about speed and power. Sure the Corvette is fast and with 400+ hp it should be. However, as Zipgun said above "its not all about speed." At least not for me. For me it's about the overall drivng experience I get from a car. I want to feel like the car and I are in sync with each other. I seldom enjoyed driving the Corvette like I do my Zs. The Corvette didn't provide me with the same feel that other cars I've owned have. And for the record I always wanted to own a Corvette so I had to have one at some point.
Some of my gripes about the C6. The steering in the C6 is vague and sloppy and the manual shifter is notchy (although GM improved both some in 08 and later models with a new steering rack and transmission). The interior is cheap looking for a car costing as much as it does. The 370Z interior is much nicer. The seats absolutely suck and the car has a turning radius like an oil tanker. The OEM runflat tires are down right dangerous in cold weather too. Other than that the Corvette is a great highway car. You can run 80 mph all day and still get close to 30 mpg.
Just my two cents!

If I were in the market for a used C6 I would definitely look for an 2006 or newer, but preferably a 2008 or newer since there were numerous changes to the C6 beginning with the 2008 model year, including the new LS3 motor.
