The Forum Wars: Season 2
Talk is cheap if you can’t bring it behind the wheel. You’ve seen the episodes of The Forum Wars presented by Royal Purple, and you’ve thought, “I could do better than that!” Here’s your chance, as recruiting is set to begin for The Forum Wars Season 2.
Would you like to represent My350z on the track in your 370z? Are you willing and able to competitively run a ¼ mile drag race, autocross style road course and a 0-100-0 competition against a new Mustang 5.0 from Stangnet? We want you to compete on The Forum Wars Season 2 that will be filmed in Houston, Texas at the Royal Purple Raceway the weekend of Jan. 8, 2011.
Racers and fans of the inaugural season of The Forum Wars will experience better competition as the new season will include:
· ¼ mile NHRA drag strip
· Improved road course design
· 0-100-0 racing
· Cars and drivers nominated and approved by the forums
· Additional track time for the drivers
· More evenly matched vehicles with similar mods and tires
This season’s eight (8) episode series will be promoted on national television, SPEED, and posted and promoted all over the internet. To sweeten the deal, prizes will be awarded to participants from Royal Purple, Magnaflow Exhaust, Eibach Springs, Mothers Polish and more.
If you want to represent your forum on The Forum Wars Season 2, please reply to this post. Or, if you would like to nominate a My350z member, you can submit his or her name.
We are looking forward to an improved and incredible season with a great day of competition and fun at the track! Don’t wait to nominate! Nominations will close December 20th.

so you're looking for a 370z on a 350z forum, to pit it up against a car with a lot more power? wtf???
maybe pit up the v8 camaro and v8 challenger against the stang, as there is already some natural domestic rivalry, but the 370z? shouldn't that compete against other 2 seater v6 coupes? considering two of the challenges are straight line and one is an actual track setup, that's not very fair.
seeing how badly you guys screwed up the first season I am sure there will be all sorts of lopsidedness on modifications and such. oh well, at least you are having the forum approve of the participants this time. i bet you will bend that rule if you need to film something and no one's stepped up just like last time.
argg.. season one was such a failure with the way my350z was represented. I hope a good driver steps up this time.

Adding a post to keep this alive--so hopefully members actually SEE it this time and it isn't a sham that we had no say in. Ideally we would have a seriously modded, track proven 370z for this round. Perhaps one of the shops has a car that they run? Aren't there a few guys who did RTTA in a 370?

1/4 mile time is pretty killer too. saw a 5.0 with drag radials, otherwise 100% stock, run 12.1. whatever 370 is selected is going to need some bolt ons to compete.

I'd say its going to need a bit more than bolt ons, and if the first season is any indication, very little attention will be paid to mods. The drag race is going to be tough regardless--that is what mustangs are built for, hence their dinosaur-age rear end. I'm sure we could take the circuit tho. We have plenty of strong 350z track drivers, anyone pushing a 370z?

How about Sharif over at Forged, or someone from GTM. I know they have done some customer cars at least, and I remember reading a thread in which Sharif put down some impressive lap times...

If this happens....I say it should pin a prepped C-stock 370z and an F-stock 5.0 mustang. Both times were damn close at nationals, and it gives some level of standard to follow. As long as both cars are scca legal at the time we at least know what the level of modification is. That said.....the F-stock 5.0 would dominate the drag race section. I am still trying to figure out why the standard for you guys is mustang vs Z platform. I'd rather see a Camaro SS vs 5.0.....

Season one was a good match-up, at the track this was really clear. Richard could have beaten Rob on the dragstrip with a better start and Richard did a really good job on the road course as well, it just turned out that the Mustang driver was incredibly fast. The guy out drove other guys in a 700HP GT-R, 911 Turbos, an ACR Viper, and a ZR1.
An admitted error on our part was not standardizing the tire requirements, this gave Rob a serious advantage. This will not be repeated again. Mods and tires will be evenly matched.
We are confident that the right 370z and Mustang can be an even better match -up then the first one. This is a reasonable expectation. We are counting on feedback and suggestions from you guys to make improvements this season.
There are also some serious prizes on the line for each winner as well Royal Purple, a full Magnaflow Exhaust System, Pro-Plus Spring and Sway Bar Kit from Eibach (a full coil over kit for the outright winner), a Mothers detail kit and perhaps a set of new tires...we are still working on the sponsor for this one.
Please let us know what you think as we move forward.

I'd be interested...but I doubt your going to pay for participants travel. I can't take off of work for the event without being compensated somehow.
Jquad, on the other 370 forum, ran a 12.3 @ 113mph with boltons/tuned. He should be a top candidate!

for those that didn't catch the first season. my350z was represented by someone on the forum that has no posts, that nobody knows, and that put together a salvaged title 350z car in a matter of a couple of days. the guy didn't really have familiarity with the car at that point even, they spent all their time rushing a wrench to appease royal purples schedule.
they claim no one stepped up and that was the step they had to take to make it happen. lets not have a repeat.
