The Forum Wars: Season 2

How so? It's a canned tune only car. Mid to high 12s with a good driver. Low 12s on DRs. Assuming he knows the track, in this case neither probably will.

^Read edit. There were a few on factory tires and stock at our local track (-700' DA) running low 12's last weekend.
Also, I have actually had the opportunity to drive a bone stock 5.0 (factory tires and all) at an autocross, and I thought pretty highly of it. Definitely has a strong push, but the car is composed. Has more nose dive then any car I have driven under braking though....

I'd like to see the two go against each other. Would be fun at least. I wouldn't really be biased as I dont own either but like both.

The above information is fact; however plese make note that this was done on ET Streets with AWESOME air that resulted in negative DA. Those type of times aren't going to near what the car can on the stock all-season Pirelli tires
My car doesn't have the Brembo brakes or anything fancy like that. I have only been driving a standard since picking this car up 2 months ago so am still a noob

I thought so too! I made only 2 passes that night due to it shocking me so much.
Perfect air and 100% traction will do some crazy things! Car has seen a 11.99 and a few 12.0 passes on those tires since, however street tires see nothing like that. The factory tires on these cars are difficult to keep traction with; they generally break loose on the 1-2 shift and at times 2-3.

The car is truly a mid 12 second car when on street cars as I have nothing to hide. I just want to meet some other car enthusiasts and have a great time at the track. I believe you guys will realize I am down to earth and enjoy all sorts of cars.
If any questions or anything just ask away. I hope to meet some of you in the future as well.

I was the shaky hands filming it with the horrible camera. I missed his 11.99 pass on camera, but here I am on his 11.88 pass in the background.

Appreciate it I plan on staying for a bit and lurking to see what works and so on on the z. I like to have a little knowledge about every car and this site will surely allow me to learn some things.

The guy that built my C5Z06, and fixed what I broke in Houston. This guy has serious talent and can really turn a wrench. He was the mechanic at my vette shop in Houston before he went back to Iraq recently. Always liked any import that is AWD or RWD.
You guys might know him. Robert is his first name. Not sure of his screen name. Cool guy, just one of the gearheads that you like to be around. I'll have him post up. I asked him to run D98GT, but won't be in town.
Here is his car.

Yep, searched that screen name. Would have been a good race. His car is quick from what I hear around the corners, and he has some experience doing it. 1/4 times would probably be close if both are on street tires.
I'll shoot him a message now.

We definitely have a few cars that could compete and probably win overall. This isn't about having the most power car. It's about having the most balanced car that can compete effectively across the various disciplines. Back in 2009, we compete in the Modified Tuner Shootout again fully prepped nasty race cars and we finish in 3rd place with my (at the time) full interior and simple bolt on modded GT-R.
The time constraints are tought. Why are these shows announced with no leadtime? We just got some interest from the Tuner Shootout program that was announced for February and we're supposed to be ready for that too.
I haven't read the rules yet, but are multiple drivers allowed for the different events? I'd love to wheel a 350/370Z around the road course. I'm willing to drive, and I'll cover my expenses to get there.

Sharif I don't believe there really have been any rules like that posted, however from watching the first season it seems that only 1 driver is allowed. I know that they posted (at first) on our site looking for a stock mustang to bring out that was personally owned. Now it seems that they are opening the door to any car as long as they are on a street tire of some sort. It definitely isn't about having tons of power as that'll just lead to problems especially on an all-season tire haha.

LMK if BI needs to bring out the Z.
Fully Built Twin Turbo with nitrous
