Default Please help with this car

Hi,
i'm not very good with car, i have a 350z and i've found this car for my gf. She really love this color and it has 500HP and automatic for her to drive since she cant drive manual, she cannot multitask with clutch n gas and drive at the same time. I've convinced her and she really like it except the body kit. She will get the Amuse body kit to make it look like Paige Baker Zed which she really love the look. Do you guys think this price is right for this car? Please can anyone check it out and tell us, the car has been at the dealer for 40 days and the price has not drop. It seem a bit high since all the other Zed with same year and mileage is much cheaper. Also would the insurance be much more since it has a lot of horsepower output? And is the maintenance is much diff than standard engine without the turbo that we have to take it to specialty place to have it maintenance? Would it cost much more to maintenance in the long run? Our visa expired in 4 years and we would like to keep the car that long. Much thank you.

So, you're not very skilled with cars and yet you want to help your girlfriend buy this one? Here's 10 reasons why you shouldn't:

1) This model Z is even more advanced than the one you own and when something goes wrong (which it will), you'll have no idea how to fix it. You'll also have trouble finding a skilled tech in your area to work on it.

2) The Stillen supercharger looks nice, but if she has a hard time with the complexities of driving a clutch, this is going to be a handful for her to drive when it rains or snows.

3) The supercharger (FI) will undoubtedly add to the list of things that need to be maintained or repaired. It won't be cheap and is not something a student needs to worry about.

4) The cost is higher because the dealer is hoping the add-ons will bring in looky-loos like you! If you buy it, they'll REALLY be happy you fell for it.

5) Insurance costs? Every state is different and you can easily check out premium costs by yourself. The FI mod will undoubtedly cost more, or you may find her age and driving record won't even allow her to purchase insurance from some companies.

6) There's a difference between a "turbo" and a supercharger (which is what this car has), so learn it, know it, live it...

7) Maintenance costs will be higher and it's likely this car has a stock VQ37VHR block which will eventually show signs of increased wear due to more fuel and air being shoved into it.

8) In the long run (in your case, four years since you're in school) this Z will go through more tires, brake pads, rotors and premium fuel even if it was dead reliable. And it'll never be dead reliable, so she'll want YOU to fix it.

9) Are you really in Missouri (MO), as your description reads? This Z34 is located in Maryland (MD) and is hundreds of miles away. Not an easy thing to check this car out in person and then expect to drive it back to the Midwest.

10) You're a student who's trying to impress his girl. Fine. But this isn't the way to do it. Find a locally-owned, low mileage Monterrey Blue 370Z that hasn't been modded and spend more time on your studies, not surfing the internet...

Gotta be one in every crowd. Why don't YOU list 10 GOOD reasons for the OP to buy this Z34?

And it's not the norm- it's just good advice...

thank you guys, we will try to look for a good used one closer to us. Is it really that hard to drive the car i had posted? I have a normal 350z and its awfully slow and easy to drive. I wish we have these in our country that normal people can buy. It cost above 125K US dollars for a used Zed where we live. So once I got here I bought one for 8K dollars and loving it.

Not sure which country you come from, but no matter where, I don't think a Z is "awful slow". It's easy to drive on the street, but don't let that fool you. Take it to the track and you'll find its blend of accessible horsepower, handling and strong braking make it very quick compared to other high $$ sportscars. The track is the right place to explore the capabilities of your Z and learn how to improve driving skills.

And no, the car you posted won't be that difficult to drive when the roads are dry. But the Z34 has a shorter wheelbase and combined with higher HP/TQ, it can be a handful in rain or snow for a novice driver like your girlfriend. Just take a look around here and see how many Z33s and Z34s are getting trashed b/c people get sucked into thinking they can defy the laws of physics.

Thanks for the kudos, guys.

+1 to DK and...
LOL Jones junction! We call them Jones Jacks your price Junction. Lived in that area most my life. Knowing the area, the people, and the dealership, WALK. Its about a 91.2458742% certantiy that that car was bought and modded for a teenager or very early 20's nothing young person whos parents have a ton of money and feed their kid everything they want (not that im jealous cause i wasnt one of them). I purposely went out of area/state to buy my Z. And I knew it needed work (up to $2500 thus far and failed MD Insp again yesterday). You could combine all the vehicles Ive had/worked on in 15 years and not come close to how much work Ive done on my Z. Not complaining, just saying it seems when it breaks, it breaks and cant be ignored. It has to be fixed the right way the first time. Or youll be back at it. I agree with DK, find stock unadulterated Z with some sord of warranty and call it a day. Your GF will still love you (hopefully). And if she doesn't walk away from that too!! jk
