The Brutal Truth about the Z35
After having about 8 Japanese cars and one German car I can say it's not even close. The Supra is German so I'll leave it at that. The base model Z is a disgrace, cloth on the doors and dash, the 350Z had it right, this is just wrong and not worthy of its 40k price tag.
Worth 33k tops, realistically since it's an old platform they should be priced at 30k/40k.

It's actually not a bad-looking car save the huge headlight lenses which are so 20th century. When you have a 50+ year production vehicle the knee-jerk is to make subtle changes with a nod to nostalgia ala
Camaro,, Mustang or Thunderbird and hope folks accept the new look.
Granted they have been consistent with each new release being a little sleeker and a little more power with each iteration. Sure at these volumes this isn't really a money-maker for Nissan, it's definitely not their bread and butter. Then again, folks aren't likely to open their wallets to collect and keep like they might a mid-engine
Vette after a 70 year production run.
It's a solid company with an excellent record of making reliable cars. Personally I'm glad Nissan chose to continue, Mr K would be proud. Will I trade-in my 06 V3 ZR? I think you know.

Interestingly (and fortunately), the "chrome strip" isn't chrome and its main purpose is to "break up" the top and bottom of the car (to the eye, a design choice) so the black top doesn't have to "blend" with the blue except at the A-pillar. Personal choice - like or dislike - I guess.
