Ehh they are all pre-ordered, so it's not inventory. Do they get to do that with pre-ordered cars?
There are no pre-orders as per Nissan's memo. They are all allocated to dealers and dealers may have deposits, but none of those cars are assigned to customers. The dealers can do whatever they want.
They said the launch edition was sold out, I call that pre-order. If you are sold out it can't be stock...
Nissan has confirmed multiple times there were no pre-orders happening for the Z. The closest thing to that is waiting lists at individual dealerships.
Might see a "new Z" at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion/Weather Tech Raceway Laguna Seca (jeez what a mouthful), I mean there's some other cool cars to see as well. Hope I can talk the wife into going, less than two weeks away. I've missed out over the past few years .

Better racing at “The Historics” (as we used to refer to the Laguna annual event.) than the contemporary stuff, IMO.
But honestly, the event has so much commercial crap tied to it plus so many poseurs show up (celebs, Silicon Valley elitists), etc. that it gets annoying. But that’s my take as I go for the racing but my wife likes the other stuff. (But she likes the racing too)
I prefer the “Pre-Historics” the week before the big event. Many cars show up for the pre-historics to test and they do have some good W2W scrapping. Lower key, easier parking, just a lot more chill.
But if you’ve never been, HIGHLY recommend!!
PS I scoff at the Silicon Valley “elite” but confession… I’ve hosted client events in the hospitality suites (above the pit garages) when I was a muckety-muck. Fun! Schmooze and watch racing right out the windows. Easy deal. 🤡😆
