dealers have to send master techs and service managers to a training starting sometime in July. im not sure why this didnt begin earlier. only thing i can think of is they didnt have enough GT-Rs for each region to have them for hands on training.
but yeah the first allocations were supposed to be the week of July 11th but right not that doesnt look like its gonna happen

This didn't happen with the 350z release. I remember getting a phone call from my dealership on the day the 350z's were official "available for sale" and my dealer called me up and said, "Dave, yours showed up yesterday." Full month earlier than any of us were expecting, but I was stoked.
I guess the 350z really wasn't as technically advanced as the GTR's though, so I can understand the need to get techs and sales reps out to understand the car. I still think the damned car would work better as an Infiniti, but oh well.
Dave (is slightly jealous of y'all with pre-orders )

MC, are you starting to go nuts? Do you have your first couple thousand miles of trips planned out already?
Dave (will be in North Carolina right about late july, hint hint )

cool pics....my dealership's 6 challengers are sitting in LA right now...the truck drivers say they cant get them on the trucks.....
I laugh every time i see pics of cars like this in holding at ports or rails depots because i think of all the ads i see with "car has never seen rain", or "garaged its whole life, only driven on sunny days". YEAH RIGHT....
The cars in LA might not get rained on, but HI and the eastcoast ports will definately.
I would also be worried about people at the rail yards driving them. The first 3 Viper trucks in GA were abused really really bad. all 3 had completely bald tires, missing badges and trim and 1 was delivered to the dealership with a blown motor..... needless to say 3 guys at the rail depot lost their jobs real quick.

yeah MC the white right-hand drive in ocean city, md sounded absolutely AMAZING and very commanding. Turned heads anywhere and everywhere he was at, had to leave my car in the convention center for the show and soon as I saw that drive by I was hope he comes back next time I head to OC

Yeah, most new cars we get in have 2-5 miles and part of the PDI (pre delivery inspection) is a 7 mile test drive (This is for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, i have no idea about other makes). Every once in awhile there will be a car that has about 200-220. There is usually a sticker on the drivers window identifying it as a random car pulled out of production and run on the test track or dyno for QC. The last one I saw like that was a quad cab viper truck, but i haven't done a PDI in over a year.
I would expect a pre-ordered car to have 50 or less miles. More would make me start asking questions. I know if I had a preorder on a first batch, first allocation car i would request to be there when it is delivered and try to peek at the mileage before it is PDI'd, washed etc. I would not be a jerk about it, just want to be there when it all goes down. We had an old guy buy a Viper from my old dealership in Atlanta that requested for all the plastic seat covers and trim protection to be left on, no wash, just the PDI.
I would not worry too much about monkey business at the dealerships, but the rail depot, port, and delivery guys would scare me. They are only worried about getting the cars moved as fast as possible. That and a GTR is one of the coolest cars coming out and they get to see them first, in a huge parking lot closed to the public......The next month will be torture for you guys that actually get one!!!!!
