I am considering a 350z roadster but was wondering what do you guys think about the Z4 Roadster considering a used one is about the same range. How many people compare the differents? Just looking for some options.

Well there is the bragging right of sayin "i drive a BMW" instead of "i drive a nissan"... But with that aside, the BMW Z4 should be more fun to drive given that its a BMW and its about 400 lbs lighter. However, i would say that the Z looks better. The Z4 is a bit small and looks quirky. The 350z gives u a bit more exotic feel with the deep cockpit seating and the softop folding under a metal cover.

BMW and Nissan, do I need to say more if they were the same price? lol
But if you intend to keep either car for the long haul, I'd go w/ Nissan. Most ppl who own BMWs tend to sell it after their warranties run out because maintenance costs a damn kidney.

Before, I bought the roasdster my girlfriend was trying to convince me in getting a Z4. I've always like the BMW but the looks on the Z4 looks like a shark. In comparision the Z4 has a nice smooth V6, H.K. sound system, headed seats, Xenon lights, and so others that are standard in packages. I was getting $4000.00 of the MSRP that time. If I get a bimmer I would get M3, M5, or the new convertible 6 series. The benefits that BMW service provides the Z4 is a 4 yr/50,0000 miles (oil change, brake pads, wiper blades). Nissan you will pay out of the pocket for those maintenaces. I still ended up getting the Z, I like the feel of tight suspension. apperance, VQ engine, and the legend behind it. Good luck in your decision!

A few more reactions....I did not like the exhaust note, it had to be pushed to hard to really sound nice. Also, I am a big fella (6'3) and found that the pedals in the Z4 were too close and I kept catching edges. Shifts were very nice.
Good cars both, Z4 a huge improvement over the Z3. If you go with the BMW remember they are not all created equal - ensure you get the bigger engine with 6 speed gear box - the 5 speed 2.5 just ain't worth it.
I love my ZR, happy with my choice.

get the Z4 3.0. They have potential. Would look great at formal events. Makes you look more mature. Will devalue slower then the Z. But if you don't care about any of that, get the Z.

Funny...KBB calls the Z a "luxury" car.

The Z4 Will devalue faster than a Z. The Z4 was as slow seller last year. BMW had to offer a Mfg to Consumer incentive of about $5000 just to help dealers get the car sold.
Interpretation: the car was overpriced to begin with.
If they needed an incentive to sell the car new, I can only imagine what kind of a hit it's taking on the resale market.
The Z4 looks like the inmature car, like an iyoung kid with spiked hair, with its lines and creases all over the place. The Z's styling will be a classic some day. The Z4's styling is just a fad

I looked at the z4 too befor I bought my zr. I didn't like the z4 look's with the top down on the passenger & driver side, you could see the frame of the convertible top. When my top is down on zr you don't even know it has a top. & the interior in the z4 just seemed real plain to me! It reminded to me of the old triuph Spitfire I used to have.My zr touring seeem's more like a luxury sports car.
