Default Patiently waiting & waiting & waiting...

Well, I did it.

A local Phoenix dealership found a 350ZR PP White/Frost, 18" wheels & 6 speed on the dock in California yesterday. We agreed on the price & trade-in for my Miata & now I wait.

He called last night & confirmed the ship order. Delivery should be on the 20th.

Now I am going to have a few more questions for all of you on this Forum. Here is my first:

I want to dress up the car with chrome wheels. The sales manager said that if I got the same sized chrome wheels (18" X 8" I think) that I would not jeaprodize the warranty if feathering occurs. Is he correct?

Anyway, thanks for all your help in my decision process.

I hope the truck doesn't get robbed or flip over on the way there.

Don't get chromeys just yet. Look at all the wheels available. Get some 19s. I think he is correct on the issue.

Here's hopping now that Nissan has changed the alignment #'s and the OEM tires have been redesigned there won't be anymore feathering problems ..... here's hoppin anyways... That said I think only a few 03' owners had any issues with feathering with there aftermarket rims/tires. So personaly I wouldn't worry about the feathering issue... Take into account tho, lower profile tires will wear out faster then the stock ones... So don't be surprised if your 40 series tires give up after 16k-20k miles... Also 19" tires cost a bit more then 18" tires... But 19's look way better

Congratulations on the plunge. You won't be sorry with this car or the color. As for the warranty, it’ll be good if you can get the sales manager to put thing in writing, BEFORE you hand over the money, will save a lot of argument later if you have any issues.

While you are waiting, pick a CD to bring with you to pick up the car. Decide on if you will use clear bra (highly recommended) , make an appointment to get it done the next day if you gonna put one on. Bring a camera. Post pictures so we can drool with you. Do some face muscle exercise as you will be smiling a lot.

Darn winter is sooo long …. mine is in storage.

Get it in writing. They can always get out of it otherwise if you don't. One could argue that if the wheel has a different offset, the load distribution on the tires will be different. That said, if you are not 100% comitted to chrome, the Nismo wheels are among the best available in terms of weight and quality and will not void any warranty whatsoever. They will also allow you to run 275 width tires in the rear and 245 in the front which will dramatically increase your handling abilities.

Sonoran,

How much is the OTD price in Phoenix? Just curious cause I just bought one n CA but do travel to Phoenix once very quarter.

You'll love the PPW, it's pretty rare on the street. Enjoy!

The reason I asked is because mine is probably sitting somewhere next to yours at the same port in CA. The dealer (Peoria Nissan) initially gave me an ETA of 2/10/05. Now they say the cars may not get to Phoenix until they can fill an entire tractor trailer full of them to drive to Phoenix.
