Default My Top wont move: Should I have power seats?

Hi Guys, New here with a 2004 350Z roadster. It has been abused and looks and acts like it, but seems to run OK. Many things need to be fixed, but the top needs to be fixed asap. So Im going down the list of possible causes of why it wont work and after repairing the drivers window and making sure the switch is good I moved on to the passenger seat. I notice that there are harnesses just laying on the floor under both seats. This tells me that a previous owner put manual seats in this car.

My thinking is that im never going to get the top to work without a power seat. Any info advice is appreciated.

Thanx
B

I do believe the seats slide forward slightly when the top goes down. Whether the top's control module knows that the seats successfully moved or not, I don't know.
