Question Relacement windshield?

Has anyone replaced the windshield on their ZR?
While running my wife's car (NOT MY ZR) thru the local boutique carwash, a sales rep told me of a promotion--new windshield costs me nothing--insurance co. pays all. My ZR's windshield has some sand pitting and one chip about the size of a pinhead, so I may be interested. I am concerned, tho, about leaks and proper refitting of the rearview mirror. Any experiences/advice? Thanks.

I replaced mine due to a flying pea-sized rock which resulted in a meandering crack. I had to specify OEM and work through an on-site replacement service. Initially, my dealer wanted me to pay the $500 out of pocket despite a zero deductible. Worked out fine but I had to take take additional steps. The fitment was fine. This link will take you to some pics of the install.

FYI: Windshields are covered under most policies in Florida. Check with your insurance company before you spend the money.

Safelite did mine, but for some reason, they put in PPG windshield. The installer said the reason was because they were out of the safelite brand that day. Anyways, the quality is very good. I had 4 rocks hit my new windshield at high speeds and no chips...wow...lucky me.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go ahead with the replacement.
