Default Roadster Chassis Rigidity

Compard to the 350Z coupe does the roadster give up much in respect to rigidity? Is the chassis tight and responsive or is their a lot of flex and slop.

I'm thinking of making the switch to the roadster but don't want a sloppy chasis.

Default Roadster is rigid

I believe you will find the roadster to be a well handling machine. Nissan has added significant stiffening to the chassis and body panels to compensate for not having a roof. Who misses it anyway? I was recently on the track with my 04 DB Roadster at a performance driving school. The instructor commented on how well the car was balanced and handled through the corners. I have swapped out the stock springs for Hotchkis Sport Springs and the stock sway bars for Hotchkis bars so that may have helped out a little. Good Luck and have fun.

JetPilot-
I've driven a lot of roadsters over the years, including a 2003 Corvette, and my ZR has less cowl-shake and body flex than any other convertible I've driven. I think you'll be pleased. I vote for the roadster!

The chassis is the same between roadster and coupe, and it's also shared with suv. It's significantly stiffer than most platforms.

Absolutely the tightest chassis I have ever driven. The roadster is actually a few hundred pounds heavier then the coupe due to all the extra rigidty built in to it. Go for it! you won't be sorry.

The Roadster is OK. It's not re-enforced between the rear shock towers like the coupe is. Add the roof to that and the coupe is much more rigid. If you put in any serious amount of track time, the S2K would be a better convertible.
