Unhappy Is this a decent deal for a ZR trade

Guys,

I own an '04 base with 25k miles (bought it in march 2004). There is a dealer nearby that is willing to sell an Enth 2004 ZR (automatic) with 23k miles for $25k OTD.

The dealer offered to give me $16k for my car. I am trying to get $17k. If I could get $17k for my car and pay $25k for the roadster, would that be a good deal?

Always wanted a ZR, but never had the garage until last year.

Ed,

I still owe $10k on my base. Assuming the number above, I would need to finance around $18k

Very good price, ensure you do a car fax report. Be careful of your trade, thats where dealers make their $!

Blue book trade in is $17250, but the dealer normally low ***** that. If they give you $17K, go for it!

Get the proper reports on your cars value Tony and compare off that to what the Stealership wants to give you....and if you get the ZR you're a lucky dog

Thanks zand02max. Like everything else, when I bargain, I leave the interest rate out cause I can get a cheaper loan rate from the Credit Union.

Just like to bargain with OTD price.

I can get a little bit more $ by selling to a third party, but its so hard right now.

Go on Kelly Blue Book and see what they will give you for it. If you e-mail them, they might buy it from you for the price they quote you. That way you would have more for the purchase of the roadster.

If you've always wanted the roadster, I'd jump on it ... nothing like a convertible ... I've found that there is no 'grey' area when it comes to 'topless'. Once you have a convertible, one of two things will happen:

(1) You will never ever want one again ... ever ... not even for free.
(2) You will always want another one, always ... no matter what the cost.

The stealership will always take advantage of you no matter what. I think you can sell your base 04 for at least 21-23 unless depriciation is really biting our asses. Prepare for sunscreen and joy with the roadster.

Guys,

After looking at the car (car is fine), but the vin tells me that the car used to be in Texas.

Heard so many things about cars in texas that considered to be a totaled loss due to floods and then the people repair them to sell. The carfax report said something about it passed the saftety inspection.

I have doubts now.

Anybody think I can get an 06' Enth ZR for 34-35K OTD in socal?

Tony

I don't see why not ... you should be able to pick up an 06' Touring ZR for $35-36k + TTL ... the Enthusiast Trimm is a few thousand less, so it should be close.

EDIT: I just checked ... Invoice on a Manual Enthus should be around $33.5k ... I got mine for $800 under invoice on the Touring Trim ... fwiw ...
