Default Has anyone installed

the Parrot 3200 or any fully integrated Bluetooth solution in their roadster? I'm thinking about doing the Parrot installation but wondered about the sound quaity and audio pickup through the bose speakers with the top down (as it is down most of the time).

Currently I'm using a Jabra SP500 that is temp mounted in the nav cubby. It is ok, but ...

I was thinking about this but how effective do you think it would be with the top down?

Please forgive the commercial plug but you guys are asking and I have something that might help.
If you have the Bose system - I make a plug and play harness interface called the HBBH-1 to install the Parrot kit in minutes - see http://members.***.net/quickconnect
Top down is no problem since there is surround sound out of the Bose and fully adjustable.

If you don't have the Bose, I have a straight thru plug and play adapter called the QCNis-1.

In either case, your headunit needs to be factory. I also stock all 3 models of the Parrot units. Any questions please send them to me at quickconnect@***.net rather than continuing anything commercial here.

Thanks, Howard

I'm thinking it should be better than the quality I'm getting now using the Jabra (which is acceptable). I think I'll try the kit that SDGuy has put together.

Give me a couple of weeks and I'll let you know how it works with the top down.

Ordered the kit today. I'll be doing some testing on where best to install the mic (wind levels with top down) and do a write up once the install is completed.

Does the Parrot bluetooth accessories support the A2DP bluetooth profile? I was looking at getting a Scosche UBR (Universal bluetooth receiver) with a PAC AAI-NIS2 (RCA to Bose head unit wire harness).

This thing looks pretty slick, but if it doesn't support A2DP then the sound quality won't be good enough to stream my audio over the bluetooth. It's good enough for a phone conversation, but not for my music.

EDIT: Did my research

Hi,

I wrote to Parrot to get informations about the future support of A2DP profile in their products.

Result :
Parrot will support A2DP in the second semester 2006. I think it's really late, as all the new products coming out today support A2DP, and more and more updates are avilable for 'old' products, like the Qtek 9100. Anyway...
BUT
the actual car kits won't be upgradable, cause this requires hardware changes.

I guess people who want to use their Parrot with their MP3 player for example (like i do with my future PDAhone) should wait until the new versions come out.

Default 3100 parrot installed

I have the 3100 installed...initially through a relay to the navigation voice input but the volume was too low. Now I have the parrot (driver front speaker) output connected to the driver front speaker directly behind the radio and the parrot (passenger rear) output to the passenger front speaker and it works well. With a call now, the passenger front side mutes (because the parrot rear output is actually a mute wire) and the the rear stays on but feels like a low mute. Voice only comes through the front speaker loud enough to hear in a roadster as oppose to the navigation input which in freeway speeds was just not loud enough even at the highest set volume.

As to the quality, it is excellent with the top up. With the top down, the wind noise is very audible even with the noise cancellation technology. My mic is placed at the driverside column.
