The Bose in the Z sucks. Sound quality is ok, but far from good. And mine broke. I had about 14000 miles on the car, and the damn thing is jammed. It won't eject my cd's, it won't play them. I have a Bose system with a FM/AM and a tape player. And it has 4 of my cd's stuck in it as well. But I do like my heated leather seats. So I'm getting an aftermarket head unit.

On the other hand, I had a 2002 TL type S with a Bose system and it sounded great. So maybe it's just Nissan + Bose = SUCK.

I too agree that the stock Bose system in the Z needs some help. The headunit is great. The rest of the system I replaced. I think it is a little unfair to Bose, they made a system probably to Nissans specs and price. Now if Nissan wanted to pay $4,000.00 per unit for their cars, I'm sure Bose would have produced a stellar system. So lets blame Nissan for the type of system that is in the Z, not Bose.

Complaining on a car forum that you are having issues with your piece of crap Bose as if no other Audio Manufacturer in the world makes systems that develope issues, is not very fair either. I have had numerous brands that have given me quite abit more issues than this Bose system.

I don't want to sound like I work for Bose or something, it just seems like the mobs gang up tactics are just a little tainted.

Just hook the cable feeds as instructed and the factory harness, plug in a cd for analysis and you are set. Professional installation $300

I'd recommend the Rockford 3Sixty, it does way more than the Cleansweep, and its smaller and cheaper!!

I decided not to change head unit or speakers and add a digital sound rocessing 30 channel equalizer. JL Audio makes such an add on called "Cleansweep". It is relatively inexpensive and will wake up the Bose system. You cant go wrong with JL Audio

Are you going to install the device yourself or have it done professionally?

Rockford makes a more powerful device thats smaller and cheaper than the CS, called 3Sixty.

3Sixty has 6 inputs, JL has 4
3Sixty internally sums if you need it, JL will sell you another device thats $150
3Sixty has 153 bands of EQ to correct, JL has 120
3Sixty has a programmable controller to function as a master volume or subwoofer level, JL has only master volume
3Sixty.1 gives you access to 15-wide Q filters post OEM correction to make a flat response sound good, JL gives you no access
(3Sixty.2 gives you access to all 153 bands, plus Xover, Delay, subsonic)
3Sixty has independant output level control, JL does not
3Sixty shows a before and after response to prove it works everytime, JL does not

The 3Sixty.2 has many more features but I'm trying to compare apples to apples and the 3Sixty.1 stomps all of the CS. The 3Sixty.2 is in a different catragory, all depends on what you're looking for.
