Interesting. Seldom had this problem until my last to cars (06 volvo, 05 350z) and assumed it was age related - mine. Signals on both cars seem to require complete return to 0 degrees before turing off signal. Did older cars turn off during return to center perhaps?

I have an 03 and I can turn it about 45 degs into the turn and back to center, even before it's back to 0 degs and it will cancel out. But like I said, I flash my turn signal and then cut it off. I don't wait for it. And I ALWAYS glance at my gauges esp with my music up. I esp check my oil and volt. Nevermind the speedometer. LOL

This problem bothered me at first, but after a while you become more aware of the turn signal. When I take a turn that's less than 25-30 degreess and I use the turn signal, it is natural to check that its off now.

Default Buzzers

I read the wiring diagrams in the service manual but had a hellova time finding the wires under the dash so................

I got 2 Radio Shack buzzers (12 volt) - each a different frequency. I tapped into the wire behind the headlight clusters (both sides) that goes to the turn signal and ran the wires back under the dash.

I double face taped the buzzers to the topside of the plastic panel under the steering column, added a ground and viola, it worked.

If I wanted to make ot more "sophisticated, I'd add a rheostat to the ground to adjust the volume for top up or top down.

Took about 2 hours, Biggest pain was laying on my back (I'm 68 YO) under the dash to get the wires to the steering column.

See, that's sweet. And helpful. Pics? Diagrams? Etc? What buzzers did you use? Do you have audio of the two?

This is the one thing I hate about my car too. It's not really the sound that is the main culprit, it's that you have to turn the wheel 90 degrees before it will "realize" a turn took place and click off the signal.

I've never had a car require the wheel to turn that much before it would kick off the signal. I have an entrance on the interstate that turns about 80 degrees, and it's not enough to kill the switch, so I am always on the stupid highway with the top down looking like an idiot!

Wow, you people complain about the tiniest things in life. Remember, the grass is still greener in a Z. Just drive and enjoy.

If you wear polarized sunglasses with the top down you can still see the turn signal just fine - even in the bright sun.

That's why I said the ONE thing. It's just such an easy fix for nissan, and I've never driven a car that had that issue with where they set the click off for the signal. I imagine the coupes don't have that issue, since it only happens to me with the top down. No one likes to look like an idiot in a cool car.
