Default Painted Roll Bar Covers

I'm thinking I'd like to paint the plastic roll bar covers to match the body color. Has anyone taken them apart to do this ?

I've looked at the factory manual CD and it looks like a pull-apart kind of deal, but has anyone done it, painted them and put it back together without destroying them in the process?

Is it better to just sand, mask and paint them in place ?

I think it looks good IF it is done properly with the sanding and finishing, otherwise it looks bad.

Oh man, that's some serious motivation. So I ask again - did you take them apart, shoot, then reassemble (how hard to do without damaging?), or shoot them in place?

Those really look great.

no reason. I just have too many monitors so why not put them in there for the heck of it.

i paid $1500 to get it paint by some shop. It is very easy to damage the little plastic snap inside.
