Default Seat automatically goes forward...

Hi guys, I'm from australia and I have a 350Z roadster.. Wheneva I close or open the top, the passenger seat moves slightly forward automatically before it begins to open the top (I assume this is to avoid the top touching the passengers head whilst folding)... I was just wandering, is there anyway to stop this auto moving the seat by cutting a wire or something?? It's useless and the top has never been in the way of passengers etc... This will also decrease opening and closing times...

There is a switch on the back of the pass. seat to disable this. If all else fails, consult the owner's manual.

I kind of like that seat moving forward feature. It's fancy! haha

Its designed to do that. If you watch the top when its moving you will see that it almost hits right there. They designed it to move to move a passengers head forward so no chance of the top hitting them. I haven't looked in my manual yet but I seen to remember my 04 manual station that. Anyway, nothing is wrong with the car.

I find that it inconveniences a "first time" passenger.. all of a sudden they notice they're getting pushed forward and you see this "wtf is going on" look on their face lol.

I know it's designed to do that (would be quite a unique malfunction otherwise), but it's really useless and unnecessary as none of my passengers heads stick up that far and that's why there is a switch behind the seat to turn it off as FishBrownie pointed that out for us...

yeh back on the seat, the switch is there..

Note: i disabled mine but people kept hitting there heads. Hence i re-enabled it

I think it's a good reminder for the passenger to watch their head. The driver already has to lean down, but some passengers need a little prod.
