Anyone?
I think I'm going to take mine off today so it doesn't damage the paint over the long term by trapping dirt and grime.
Is there a reason it's there? Or is it just factory/shipping/dealer parking lot protection that shoud have been removed upon purchasing her?
See picture below.

I think the dealership was suppose to take it off...at least, that's my educated guess seeing as how I also, have NEVER seen it but on my car. It's like that chrome AutoZone crap the Mexicans love to put all over their Mitsubishis, except its PPW instead of chrome.

Yeah man, just messing. I used to sell Nissans, and we'd get everyone w/ the "Pinstripe, Door Edge guards, interior protectant, locking lug nuts" $90 Appearance Package. In all honesty though, I have never seen those "door edge guards" used on the fenders. By the looks of your picture, they did put the "door edge guards" on your doors, so I would assume they put them on your fenders too. If you can, go peel one back a bit and see what it looks like underneath. If the paint looks normal, take them off, I guess.

I totally didn't pay for the "appearance package", it wasn't on the window sticker. Those were already on the ar when I bought it. Yeah, they are on the fenders and the lower portion of the door.

Not certain if all dealerships do the Appearance Package; at the place I worked at, it was tacked on to the dealer's sticker, not the manufacturers... they'd also tack on another Destination charge to the MSRP
shady... thats why it pays to do your homework haha

I bought my roadie at TMV before TTL and my extended warrenty, which I got the finance guy to drop his 500 profit (it was 1300 instead of 1800) I thought I made out pretty well.
I had all my plastic left on my car when I special ordered my GTR350Z. One reason was the last time I bought a car the dealer scratched it when they detailed it. I also told them I wasn't going to pay a detail fee as I didn't want them to touch my car. They didn't detail it, left the plastic on, and I didn't pay for the detailing. The stuff came off easy, and I saved hundreds.
