Thumbs up UR Underdrive Crank Pulley Installed!

Last night a buddy and I put on the UR underdrive Crank Pulley and new belts. The install itself as far as difficulty goes was not bad at all. The instructions however are fairly vague. They say remove the belts. It took us a little bit to find the belt tensioners. The worst part was just getting the crank bolt broke loose. We first tried the breaker bar, no game. We then put a pipe over the breaker bar to use as an extention. That finally did the trick!

The instructions say it takes 5-7 days for the ECU to adjust to the smaller and lighter weight rotation. The most hp should come at the end of that period.

Right away what I could notice, was how easy the revs go up now. Just barely taking off the car goes with ease. The throttle response seems to have improved a little. Hopefully I keep feeling some gains as the days go by.

For what I paid for the pulley I think it was well worth doing. I plan on staying N/A for some time and feel that the little bolt ons I have done lately, just make the car even more fun to drive.

I wish we had one around. Not looking to get praise just excited to share my new mod. I'm not rejecting praise either though, lol. Someone new may want to search and will get a chance to read this too. Its not the greatest write up, but I haven't had a lot of time to really see what the new mod has done.

I was really impressed by the rev response though going through the gears.

Its been a couple days since the install. The car feels great. Hopefully it will keep getting better as the ECU adjusts. The difference is something you can really feel!

do you think the pulley honestly made a difference? people say they feel a difference with intake/exhaust and i have to rais the BS flag on that. I know the greatest bolt on "noticable" difference on any car would have to be cams.

I want a little extra power but i'm not ready to drop the $8k needed for turbo so if i could find lil cheaper power adders that'd be great. I'm also shocked to hear that the Z's ECU just adapts itself. Thats cool info. to know.

Yeah for the money I spent I think it was well worth it. I got the pulley used but in excellent condition. Only 35.00! The install was done in my buddies garage I gave him 25.00 for helping me out. The belts which I needed to replace ran me a whoppin 40 something.

Either way I needed new belts so that is why I started looking to see if there were any good deals on the pulley. The mods make the care even more fun to drive. This is how it should of came out of the factory.

Next is HFC's and a tune.

I burst out laughing at the tensioner comment. I also read the scramble for the correct belt replacements. congrats on the install.

Yeah it was fun doing the install. I enjoy working on the car and learning about it. Some good bonding time.

I have 42K miles on the roadster. My belts were starting to crack and show some wear. It was just time to do it.
