my question being has anyone successfully placed an aftermarket subwoofer in there roadsters ? i just wanted to see pics and locations , because out of all the forums ive seen , they've all pretty much had to overhaul the rear glovebox area , i dont plan on putting something that big into my roadster. I just wanted something a little more conservative. Ive read the reviews on the bose sub, and there general consensus is your pretty much paying for just the name as far as its performance , its sub par.
The other option i have is use the current stock home of where the bose sub would fit , has anyone successfully used an aftermarket sub and got it to fit into the space ??? please let me know
Thank you

research research research my friend.
The stock compartment is not airtight therefore a sub slapped in the bose location would sound like **** unless you sealed it with either woord and fiberglass or all fiberglass. Nazar sells boxes designed to go in there but they're a bit pricey IMHO.
Some have just dynamated the sub area and have made it sound decent but i havent herd it myself so i idk. You could also get an infinity basslink (1 or 2) and put it in the stock bose location. Some members on this form have done it.
I myself made a custom box for the glove box (2 of them) but i pulled them out and just put one in the trunk that i can remove when i go to track days.

Unless you seal the space behind the sub it will sound like sh** and there is a good possibility that you damage the sub because of the big space behind it.
Best is to install a sealed box and I agree that the Nazar box is pricey.
I have two 10" in custom wood/fiberglass boxes in mine but I also have a new full panel over them.
I was looking into making another one for a friend of mine so maybe I should make some more while I'm at it. It will be approximately 0.8 ft3 and sealed.

thank you for your replies, id like to see pics of your setups please
, i'll still keep on my research , i guess thats just a draw back of having a roadster... just very little space for great tunes other than upgrading exisiting setup. i'm going to see how much it would cost from one of our local dealers here in san diego on making a custom box for the sub that would fit back there without having it sound like a ghetto thump mobile.

just one more quick question , does anyone know if the infinity basslink fit perfectly where the stock subs go ? ive nothing but good bang for your buck remarks but i tried to research some info on google, and its like having to trudge through a bunch of useless information that doesn't pertain to my audio goal
just need a helpful point in the right direction , other than that im willing to do a majority of the research footwork

i have 2 10'' subs in my trunk and it sounds really well.... i was suprised i didnt think the sound would carry through, even with the top down it hits pretty hard im amazed in all honesty
I would like to do this mod soon as well. I just don't want my box to cost more than my sub itself. I remember seeing pics of a guys roadster on here. He had two 15's behind the seats. Man that looked sweet. I would be happy with just one 15 or a nice 12. I just love how deep those 15's get.
I would love to get some more ideas and pics as well. But if you do search you can find a lot of info.

JL Audio is probably what I'm going with. They do well with smaller air spaces and don't take much to power them. With the UR underdrive pulley, I have to stay under a certain wattage, just to be safe.
