Roadster owners:How often do you put your top down?
I never owned a vert, but love to rent them. I've had a few targa top cars and it looks nice to have it off, but not great to drive at highway speeds. The wife complains about her hair flying everywhere etc. Here is my question...after owning your Vert/Roadster has the top start to come down less? Do you wish you now had a hard top for any reason?
Just covering all bases before I make the move to get one. After some research I've decided that I like the Grand Touring model.
I own a Vette, but she is my track car for road course events. So this roadster won't really be my performance car.

I have to say every day! Top is down every chance I get! My GF loves it too ( she has a 325CIC). My dog loves it as well. Im not sure about winter yet but its not much of a winter in Socal so im sure ill have the top down just as much in the colder months as well.

Top is down as much as I can. My wife likes it too. It really makes the driving experience better. You really hear the engine and exhaust. Not over bearing but adds to the experience. The wind resistance is really cut down compared to other verts I have been in. I like it better than my old S2000. Its a very well rounded car. You can't go wrong getting a roadster.

As long at it's at least 60 degrees out, the top is down. I have also been known to run the heater/heated seats or air while the top is down...
What I don't get is the very large number of ZR's I see on a daily basis with the top up (90%). I mean it could be the most perfect weather out and the tops are up. It drives me nuts. Why get a vert if you aren't going to use it??
The ZR owners around here are only slightly better than the Sky/Solstice owners -- they seem to be the worst as far as roadster owners who don't put the top down.

I drive mine with the top down 99.9% of the time. In the last two-and-a-half years (and 14,000 miles of driving) that I have owned my 350ZR, I only had the top up 3 times: once - just to see what its like, once - when it started to drizzle, and once - when my wife complained that it was too hot (low 100s).
For the most part, as long as it is between low 50s (put on a light jacket and turn on the heater) and low 100s (turn on AC), my top always comes down, although I find ideal top-down temperature to be in the 70s.

Just got my roadster last week. The top drops so quickly you can drop it at a stop light lol. I did it once just to watch peoples faces
. It's like a little transformer! Sorry bout the soap box, but I love this car. Tops down every chance I get!

Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't get old quick.
I think I found one I may get over the weekend. Waiting for the salesman to call me back with better price than what was on the sticker.

As much as possible
about 10 months out of the year for me....and as often as possible during the other 2 months...
The top does come up in the work parking lot.
Absolutely no regrets getting the convertible for me. I don't like driving cars w/a roof any longer....

I had convertible cars for 15 years... it never gets old.
Im in South Florida so The top is down all the time except during the day in the summer... It is simply way too hot...

Yeah mine is always down too unless its under 45 degrees F. Winter is coming and i'm super pissed because its going to be up more and more... Its always down in the summer though... gotta love electric operated top, its so easy and convenient, just press the button to open/close it.
When its cold, or your on the highway, windows up and heater on and its still quite comfortable. Not really much wind getting into the cabin area with the windows up...

LOTS of wind noise, especially with the top up, but a very fun car to drive. It was a love and hate relationship."
