2006 350z grand touring roadster: I think I found one
I saw one today and the sticker price was $25,958. 30k miles and automaic. I checked out the car (didn't drive) and as I left gave the salesman I saw in the lot my card. Told him to call me with his best price. He said what price am I thinking of....I told him I will know after I do some research this evening. His boss called me a couple hours ago and said he would like to do a quick sale so 24,958. I checked my 300 mile radius and found their price to be decent, but who pays what they offer. I'm thinking 23500 out the door. With this economy and with the slow sales shouldn't I be able to get that? I did see another 2006 with 22k miles for 20,111 from a private seller on autotrader. Only hitch is that it is stick. I don't mind stick too much, but this car could be used as my daily driver...and I'd prefer an auto for that.
What do you guys think? I would like to close on a deal this weekend.
Thanks

I just spoke to the guy with the manual going for 20,911k. He is going to scan and send me the car fax report.
I know a lot of sports car enthusiasts feel a manual is a must for a sports car. While I am not purchasing the car for my need for speed, I will enjoy it with some spirited driving. Do you owners feel the manual is still the way to go, even if the car kind of becomes my daily driver? I'm not sure if it will be at this point b/c I love my M35. However my wife has been eyeing my M35 for sometime now and I know I won't be interested in driving her boring GS300.
Feedback wanted.

Manual is the ONLY way to go,
I've driven in plenty of traffic in my car, and while it isn't fun, I found the auto Z to be zero fun, so having a manual even when you sometimes have to sit in traffic for me is totally worth it.
Don't get a manual or you just might end up making a thread "I want a manual, how can I do a switch?" like some people
just get the 6MT

I'm just trying to picture your garage. Modified Vette, M35 and a GS300. It sounds like if traffic is an issue with getting a manual, then commute with one of these cars. The Z is a driver's car. The automatic Z loses some of that connection. The MT is highly recommended.

FWIW, I recently picked up my 06 ZR with MT, 28K miles for 22.6K Love the car, and am so thankful that I bought the stickshift. Even though traffic here in the suburbs of LaLa land is heavy, I love DRIVING my car....
Enjoy your purchase, whatever you decide,

never go wrong with Z and try look for manual if you can. I know theres nothing BIG difference between auto and manual but you will regret it later if you get an auto.
It's going to be your car so you gotta do what you wanna do but i'm just saying that you should try manual Z before you purchase.

Test drove the manual today. I think it was a mistake to drive my Vette up there and do this. The car felt a bit slow and I'm sure its b/c I was doing a lot of spirited driving my Vette on the way up(40 mile hike) . With tax I'm looking at 22190. I'm going to go back after I drive the auto sometime tomorrow and see how I feel.
Here is the small monkey wrench. I test drove an IS350 and freaking loved how it drove and handled. Its an 06 with 40k..asking 25k. Any fans of this car on this site? What do you love or dislike about the car?
Thanks....I'm hoping to wrap this up by this weekend.

Yeah if you can get a manual, know how to drive it... I say do it. I settled for the auto because I couldn't find a manual, and while it works fine it is indeed kinda boring. i can still have fun with the car but a proper manual is just so much more satisfying...
And if you change your mind later on i'll trade ya, your manual for my auto.

From another forum...
[quote]If you want a convertible in the first place, then I'd say stick with the 350z or maybe an S2000. However, I wouldn't recommend using a soft top convertible as a daily driver. I had an S2000 for two years and it was fun at first but drove me crazy during my second year of ownership.
LOTS of wind noise, especially with the top up, but a very fun car to drive. It was a love and hate relationship.[/qoute]

The IS350 is a good car, but one is a hardtop and one is a 'vert. Remember that the 'vert can barely fit a Costco-sized pack of toilet paper in the trunk. ONE big suitecase, or tightly squeeze two weekender suitcases.
We DD our ZR and love it. Like you, we have other-much-faster toys for the hard spirited driving or track events, and a truck/other vehicle for those large shopping runs.
