Default replacement top from topsonline.com?

a post in the thread 'top problems' listed a site to get a quality replacement canvas top.... i thought this question warranted a new thread, instead of derailing the other one.

copperhead mentioned www.topsonline.com as a great alternative for a new top.... and i'm starting to have the seam separation problem, and am considering it. has anyone else ordered a zr top from here? or heard about them? he mentions that they're better than stock, and are BMW/Porsche quality... pretty high praise, but he was the only one. i just want to hear from others before i drop the ~$750 for a new top.....

Is there any way you can get the repair done under warranty? If not, I remember one of the members had his replaced with a canvas or cloth one - which should be more durable than the stock one.

unfortunately, it's an '04... and even with the extended GM warranty i have, they won't cover anything even relating to the top.

a very kind fellow forum member, who is also local, has given the name and number of where he found a replacement used top...so i may look there as well. right now the fabric is starting to pull away slightly, and it doesn't seem to be a problem...yet...but i just want to do my research now, so that i can pull the trigger right away if/when it does pose a problem.

was it copperhead that had his replaced? or someone else?

Copperhead is back!!!

Yes I got top last year...and it was the black canvas one. It was made by Robbins.

I had it installed for $400...so total price was $1000.

Get the canvas top! It will look better and last longer!

I bought a top from them for my old ZR. It's good except that it doesn't have the rubber ring around the rear window. Looks weird.

yikes! that would be weird. i never really paid much attention to that piece of rubber before...but it does finish off that window rather nicely. is the canvas just butted up to the window and double stitched, or something? any pics?
