Default Any roadster <MSRP?

Has anyone been able to get an under MSRP deal on a roadster? Are any dealers budging on the price of them? If you did get them to deal, what did you do?

I was not able to. The only way I had any bargaining power was with my trade-in. That was the only way they were willing to give me anything. Even the financing they offered was at 4.5% which is not a good deal either.

Default MSRP

I am paying MSRP. Right now I would call that a good dealer.

Most places want $5K - $15K over MSRP right now due to scarcity.

I Paid MSRP after checking with several dealers. They all told me that Nissan required them to charge MSRP-Not under or not over if they want to keep getting their allocation.
It sounds like MSRP is a pretty normal situation although some have reported dealers charging over MSRP due to little inventory.
Even if you order your car you will be charged MSRP with no negotiation.

I'd ordered and took delivery for MSRP. Over half of the dealerships in Southern Calif was adding on to MSRP. The only thing I got out was 3.75% financing.

Best "deal" I could get was MSRP, though I tried hard to get them lower. 4.09% financing through Nissan. Bought off the showroom floor.

BTW, this is an Enthusiast. I had to laugh at the salesman who didn't know I alreaady had a Z. He was saying all dealer are doing this, he said its called supply/demand.

hmmmm, they have had 3 since 01 Aug, and have only sold 1 since 01 Aug. Suckers are born every minute!

Default For those in SoCal

I got my redline enthusiast at Oxnard Nissan - 400 over MSRP. I still thought that was a rip. They would have given it to me for MSRP if I pushed them. Great car, but after reading all these forums, I really want a DVD player and possible nav in my car...cept I don't want to install it myself.

I got $1000 off of MSRP. Most places I talked to wanted $2000 - $5000 over list. It's not hard to find a dealer that will sell at MSRP. I was ready to order from one dealer, when my cousin who was with me, called his friend who owns a Nissan dealership and he offered to discount the car. Then the first dealer then also offered to discount the car except they wanted a nonrefundable deposit. I ordered a touring with every option (NAV, 18's, etc.) except for the cargo net. I imagine that they still make more profit on my car than they would with a base Enthusiast. With winter approaching, at least in the north and northeast, you may find some dealers willing to come down a bit, especially if you want a loaded touring model. I think that MSRP is fair and $400 over wouldn't deter me. Those dealers that want thousands over MSRP are gouging and I wouldn't do business with them.

Not to be rude, but I wouldn't mine seeing a picture of that invoice price. I can't believe a dealer would drop the roadster $1000 of MSRP. Just not believing that, sorry

Dealer tried 5000 over list at first. But got him down to MSRP when I told him I would pay cash. Just picked it up last Friday and loving it.

I am jealous. My SS Roadster Touring won't be here until around Oct 25th. Man, I can hardly sleep.

But... they really were happy you were paying cash? I thought most dealership would prefer that you finance, since they make some money for selling the loan.

Just curious because I haven't told my dealer how I am paying yet. I am going to pay cash, but I was chicken to mention that since I know they make a little less when I do that. (I am a "bad" customer since I pay cash and don;t take the extended warranty.)

We agreed to MSRP for my roadster and I am plenty happy with that deal. The one in the showroom has a few goodies added (body kit, lowjack, locking lugs) and they marked it up nearly $7K.

The salesperson I dealt with was a young guy (no older than 25) and I think he just wanted to make commission and this is the 6th vehicle I've bought from Nissan in the past 10 years.

Also, I just purchased a Sentra for my wife last July, so they knew who I was and I wasn't fooling around.

My Roadster came from Georgia to Jersey and Dealer covered all transpotation costs to bring the car up.

Believe me it's worth the wait.....

z & max - PM me your email addy and I'll send you a scan of the contract. The net effect of selling 5 or 6 roadster's doesn't have much impact on the dealer's bottom line, whereas good will and repeat business do. Also, having an overpriced roadster in the showroom gets people in to look around at other cars. Again, having it sit in the showroom for a while won't have much impact on their bottom line.
rj - congrats on your acquisition. What do you think of the ventilated seats. I think it is a beautiful combination but I would want to sit in those seats first. Do you like them?

Thats okay, I just can't believe other dealers, especially mine, would do crap like that and charge such rediculous mark-ups. It should be against the law to charge that. But if suckers want to pay that markup, they will suffer when their car depreciates after a year and they really lost that plus the (ADM).

Walked into a dealership around 10ish in the morning 2 sat ago, wasn't really planing to buy one i was just checking it out, anyway I lowballed the GSM $500 over invoice and asked them to be my first sponsor. They offered me $2000 over, so i left. Got a call from dealership that they would go $1000 over at around 4pm same day. Went back and pick one up that night (without ever set in one, and test drive on)

$41987.38----OTD price
$15250--------Down
$499.56-------Monthly x 60

The price all depends on where you live. Also I noted that about 9 out of 10 cars within 100 miles of the city of Los Angeles are automatics. I mean LOTS of them just sitting for weeks on the lots. I bet those go for MSRP or less. Majority are Touring autos in mainly silver colors. Finding a non-silver, manual, Enth is quite difficult. So while it might be supply and demand, it all depends on which dealers have what available in your area. Here it never snows and barely rains, so ZR's are still hot. The rest of you should wait until the day after Thanksgiving and start swinging that "less than MSRP" deal for the ZR's rotting with the tops up in the snow.

Rich, The vented seats are great...

especially with top down and doing 80 + and feeling the air flow comming from behind the seat.

Comfortable, lots of leg room (I'm 6'1") and good back support.

I think half of it depend on where you live and how many are available in your area at the time of purchase, another factor is how you deal with your dealership. For me I called few places around on the day of purchase and there was another dealer in LA area offered me (in writing and faxed over to me) for $1000 under MSRP on a white touring 6sp fully loaded, but I took the offer for $2000 under MSRP from local dealer to save a flying trip. I personally think if you can show the dealership you are serious about buying the car "Today" and they have more then one in their showroom, it's not hard to get them down under MSRP.

PS: I can scan my window sticker and my sales contract if any one is interested.
