making the roadster cabin quiet?
Is there anyway we can make the roadster cabing quieter? I put new wheels and that reduced the noise a little, but around 60-70mph, forget it. it's loud and I have to crank my stereo up loud...which in turn is killing my hearing. When I'm next to vehicles, I can hear their tires...jeezz...
oh, I just put new tires and wheels on. They are the hankook z rated tires for 40k miles. I did have the potenza and they we're really really loud and only lasted 20k miles.
Lucky man...370z...hmmm, lucky man.

That's one of the very first things I noticed driving a convertible. You hear just about everything outside of the car while driving. Sounds you would normally never hear in a conventional sedan. Pulling up next to a semi on the freeway? Forget it. You hear every little sound it makes. Even regular traffic and before unheard driving sounds creep in. It's how convertibles work. Both a blessing and a curse. I've ridden in Z coupes and there is a lot of road noise, no doubt attributed to the tires, that gets echoed within the interior while driving that I don't get in a convertible, but there are plenty of sounds I hear in a convertible that I wouldn't in a coupe.

I upgraded the stereo. amp and new sub. Used the fsm for the wiring diagrams to remove the oem amp and use it's speaker wires. I put the new amp behind the oem sub enclosure. Thought about foaming it in to downsize seal and port it but...it sounds amazing. No need. Not entering any car shows here.
