no just soft top material was being replaced tech said that it could be a switch it was done at an upholstery shop but he said it moved up and down and after 2 times it just didn't wanna move at all.
Its an upholstery shop so they dont do any car repair work at all and i've never had this problem at all.
Does our car have a fuse or relay for the top?

Thanks for such a helpful post.
But back to the business at hand...
Do the windows come down and does the passenger seat move when you attempt to operate the top, or does nothing at all happen?
Since it sounds like you're not a new owner - I'm already assuming that you have key in the ignition, car is stopped, foot is on brake, and you're holding down the button through the whole process.

If your windows don't even come down, it sounds more like a fuse issue or problem with the main control unit itself. In my experience, when there is a problem with a component in the top mechanism or a sensor, everything else works as expected until it gets to the step that it needs to interact with the broken item.
Since operating the switch normally rolls down the windows first and leans the passenger seat forward, I would expect that it is either the control box for the entire system or a fuse. the control box for the system can be accessed by taking off the interior panels behind your seat. it is a plastic box that is mounted to the top of the metal and sits above the driver side cubby hole area.
I'm not sure exactly which fuse covers this mechanism, but I would check all fuses in the driver floorboard and under the hood near the battery.

ouch @ last post.
if it helps there's some kind of electrical sensor box thingy (been a while since I've seen it) under the leather cover on the driver side (I think it's on the driver side). That's under the taneau cover (the thing that flips up to store your top).

Update:
Insurance wouldn't cover top since it was preexisting condition.
Nissan wants 8k in parts before they start work on it.
Got second opinion besides nissan saying top was installed improperly
Gonna more than likely go to court with upholstery shop.
Still dont know issue.
