Default Tonneau Issue not opening

My 2006 when retracting the tonneau cover i have to press the button on/off about 5-6 times for the cover to fully open so the top can go inside. This just started to happen.

I did try to search and find a guide that explains all the motors, etc but couldn't. I'll gladly take any links.
From what I could gather there is 2 motors that control opening the tonneau.

So with that being said anyone care to throw some advice on what I can do first or test steps to remedy this?

Does anyone know if it is the 2 motors on each side of the trunk? Previous owner said they had just changed out the 5th bow with a motor off of "the guy" that rebuilds them on ebay.

If it is are they fairly easy to rebuild?

According to this thread with similar issues that you describe (having to push the button multiple times), it is the deck lid or tonneau lift motors.

Thanks for that link Heel. Looks like I'll have to start with the motors and go from there.
