Default Tough cars

Just thought you all would like to know that the 35Z roadster will hold up very well in a collision (God forbid).

My new PPW roadster was 2 weeks old last Thursday night when she was rearended by a GMC Yukon Denali doing about 45 MPH. he hit me with no slowing down on his part. Well I came out of the accident with only minor injuries. The body shop guy says the Z is one tough car and as safe as a volvo - Just wish I didnt have to find that out the hard way.

Default want a replacement

I hope to get them to replace it. I took it to a good nissan body shop but chances are that the shape it is in it will never be perfect again.

I am fighting with the insurance people now. I will keep you all updated.

The worst part is that now I am driving an old honda civic they are nice cars but I miss my Z

Glad to hear you're OK Ghostlight, could' ve been worse. But, ranger5oh, I kinda of doubt that the Denali had any intelligence level. It was probably more due to lack of attention on the driver's part. Sorry, but I get a little defensive when people make SUVs out to be the root of all evil. I have a Z and a Burb, they both have their strong points, depending on what your needs are.

Thanks for the vent space.

Sorry to hear about your Z getting smashed, Ghostlight... glad you seem ok, and I hope your insurance will repair or replace your Z to "as new" condition. It's the only fair way to go.

Glad to hear that you are O'K. A good body shop should be able to fix it up good as new. They'll have to get it up to specs for the top to be able to go up and down like it's supposed to. I hope that they compensate you for the loss of value incurred when the car undergoes major repair.

Glad to hear your OK too!!!

I know how you feel. A Surburban Van smashed into my parked ZR when it was only 4 weeks old. I think your handling it much better than I did. I know it's just a car and I felt like you do as far as it never being the same again. But, I must tell you now that I've gotten it back, it feels and handles the same as it did. The only difference that I see is that the orange peel in the paint isn't there on the trunk and quarter panel anymore.
The hardest part is waiting for it to come back. Oh yeah...check it out good for overspray. Mine had it but I got it out with a claybar.
Good luck.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone - I am fine but still no word on the Z. The insurance companies have no intention of replacing it so I am not sure I am ready for a fight. The guy that hit me wont even talk to his own insurance company so I hope he is home havig nightmares of Z owners stalking him. - Cape fear comes to mind.

If anyone knows of a gret body shop in LA please let me know.

Thanks again guys

Here is the final outcome. The insurance company is going to replace my roadster.

The only problem is I now have to wait 2 weeks to a month for the dealer to find a new white one and replace my mods.

oh well something to look forward too.
