Just got my new roadster
Well after much research and test driving I picked up my silver 350Z Roadster. I got it with a blue soft top, 18 inch wheels, Nav system, touring model and who knows what else. I am pretty happy with it. The best thing was I bought it from a Porsche dealership with 500 miles on it. It turns out the gut didn't like it or something, drove it for 500 miles and turned it in on a 911. (some people have too much money!) The car still had the sticker in it and it was over $40K. The Porsche dealership sold it to me for $36K.
I wanted a soft top for cruising on sunny days. I have a BMW 5 series for daily driving so I think I am pretty set now.
Other cars I tested and thoughts (just my opinions)
Corvette Convertible - Always loved the Corvette and thought it was pretty nice but alot more money than the 350Z. Plus the style is changing next year. Also, my girlfriend hates them - so it was out.
330CiC - Great car, went with af riend to Europe when he picked one up using European delivery. Drove it all over Europe. Great car, well made but in the end it was too much like my 5 series.
Z4 - I like the looks but I did not like the drive, thought my head was a bug catcher with the windshield being so low.
TT roadster - I liked it when it first came out but it is starting to look more and more like a beatle to me. Plus it was the slowest of all the cars I drove.
1958 - 1962 Corvette - Always wanted one but will probably never get one. I am not that mechanical and too scared of what I might get.
Boxster - Always wanted one but when I was finally ready to buy I settled on the Z. The Boxster style has been around for a long time (next year it gets updated) and I think you have to go into a S to get the perfromance of the Z. Which is major dollars. I would of had to get a used Boxster to stay in my price range.
Well anyways looking forward to the advice on here and driving my Z in sunny California.
