Default Roadster Hammered!

Just got my copy of Motor Trend (I think). They had a comparo between 350ZR (enthusiast), Boxter S, Z4, and TT w/fancy transmission. The Z finished 4th! The TT finished second! They didn't like the way the Z looked, the cheap interior, its' small trunk, and it's breaking and handling with the 17" 50 series tires. Great choice of cars guys - base ZR vs upgraded TT and Boxter. Heck, the Boxter almost cost twice as much as the ZR. Nissan must have cut back on their advertising in Motor Trend last month!

I think these guys have been tainted by Euro trash for too long. They don't see how vesatile the "Z" is! We can build these cars to beat their cars and modify the appearence to our taste. How many Euros do you see built to owner taste? Besides, I get a lot of comments from others, including Euro owners, about how cool my Roadster looks. I'm glad I don't subscribe to that "Motor Rag".
They missed the point!

Motor Trend is influenced by the Automakers anyway---It is a source for automakers to advertise! I don't see how they can compare a Boxster, Z4, and the TT to the Z. The Z has more hp than all three. Besides, when you load up a Boxster or Z4 you are well over 55000.00. Sorry, but I think that is too much for a car. I have enough stomaching a 40000 SUV. The Z is meant for every one, I like Porsche, but lets admit one thing--they all look the same--same interior, same front(almost), the Z4 is cool, but when you load it up--your at 56000.00 = a hardtop ( i saw one w/ it on--looked nice) The boxster --same deal--now around 60000.00. The TT I am not sure-never really was interested-looks like a bubble! But the Z--a nice piece of art, reliable, won't kill you on repairs, and it starts at 26000.00 Base to 36000.00. Not bad at all! Just my 2 cents

Just my $.02, but Car and Driver did a preview at the release of the 04' models of the S2000, 350ZR, BWM Z4, Audi TT, and Porsche Boxster and the 350ZR finished second to the S2000 . They claimed that the S2000 was just "more fun to drive". Personally, I've driven 3 of those cars, and I bought the 350ZR because it is fun to drive and just looks better. Plus, I would never own a TT. It just looks like it has "spoiled little rich girl" written all over it.

I read this article quickly and don't understand why they take such great exception to the Z's styling? That's an extremely subjective issue obviously. However, power price and performance are not and the Z wins those categories hands down!
