Guys,
I've had my roadster for about a month and today I went to close the roof to get some lunch and it wouldn't close properly. The dash light remains on as the lock below the rear window won't work.![](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/icon16.gif)
The locking bar goes into the gap but it stays up quite a bit. I've tried poking around in there and the mechanism feels that it is working properly but it refiuses to lower correctly and the whole process won't complete.
Anyone had or heard about this and know how to fix it?

that happened to me once. it was because i stopped in the middle of the closing process and continued.
try opening the top again all the way until the soft top is stowed away... then try closing it again after that. hopefully it is something as simple as that for you. good luck.
oh! 1000 posts.

Thanks for the post but unfortunately I've tried that several times without luck. It's like the mechanism inside has partially locked itself as if the top was in place.
As it's Sunday here I think I'm going to have to open 'er up and take a look.
I'll let you know how I go shortly.

Ok, here it is.
I managed to locate the problem after Nissan told me they could't help; understandabler as it is Sunday.
This is a picture of the mechanism in the roof storage cover in front of the boot. Hopefully you can see the pink paperclip I've had to put in place to keep the latch controller arm in place.
This latch came off which prevented the mechanism from pulling the roof down into place. Obviously some sort of clip has come off causing the problem.
At least it was easy to fix.
The cover on the underside is easy to remove requiring only that a screwdriver be used to pop the centre out so the pieces can be removed and cover taken off.

Sorry, forgot to attach the picture.
This is a close-up with the mechanism cover still in place. Let me know if you would like anything else.
