well seeing as it will put to the wheels what a stock 03 has to the crank, i would hope it's a nice upgrade heh.
I remember a year or so ago i saw what mines did to what i think was an 04 Z33, they did heads, intake, cams, exhaust and a tune and it put down 320whp.
so im very interested to see what the VQ37HR will be capable of in a lighter chassis. with the .2 increase is displacement with all the otehr upgrades. i dont think 400 crank hp will be hard to reach with headwork, cams, intake, tune, headers , hfc's and a catback.
or hell maybe even going to 3.8-4.0, increasing the rev limit to 8,500.
basically a Z06 from nissan haha. but short 2 liters lol.
Nissan did it with a Motec computer with the 380RS Competition... I'm not sure how fast it is, but it is pretty wicked for a VQ38HR. It costs more than the GT-R! O_o

While not impossible, the VQ37 will be substantially more complicated to modify as far as cams, headwork, etc. In fact, depending on block/internals design, an increase in displacement might be simpler and/or more effective...
To get higher HP numbers, you're looking into more compression and/or higher redline to get up there... and I don't know if the VVEL/CVTCS systems can handle it reliably.
But where there's a will, there's a way.
I think the VQ37 will hit ~370 crank HP with ease, using simple bolt-ons and tune... that magic "100 HP per liter" N/A threshold. If an intake (if needed), HFCs and exhaust can get a tuned 370 HP... then you're still looking at a monster, assuming a lighter weight (3200 pounds).
Wait till you get a load of the Nismo front lol....Only question is if it will be look like the same species of fish as the normal 370z. I havent seen it yet but Im not holding my breath on it being nice based on the rear shots of the Nismo pics weve seen so far...
Other cars are inspired by scary sea monsters like Sharks, baracudas, Stingrays...Nissan was inspired by a Catfish which is a bottom feeder
I wonder how many people who buy the 370Z and get compliments will have to correct the admirer and explain that it's not a 350Z that looks odd for some reason.

In my neck of the woods, most folks just refer to it as a "Z", they usually dont drop the full "Three Fifty Zee"..
