Default Stock HR 350z runs 13.4@104 with head wind

03threefiftyz asked me on my youtube account (flodhi1) why I never posted my time slips and videos here so this is dedicated to the HR 350z lol

I raced a bmw 335 twice at the track yesterday he had a midpipe, exhaust and a chip. We both had a lot of head wind so we both did not put impressive times could have done way better in low low 13s but yeah any way. He and I were going back and forward in the wins unfortunately my friend recorded the one that I lost LOL is'nt that great. HR 350z is stock ran a 13.43@104.7 I believe the BMW 335 ran a 13.37@105.24 Close races I hope you guys enjoy it! I'm pretty sure If there was no head wind I would have gotten a 13.2 but oh well whatever. The chipped bmw 335 was running 12.7-12.8@110-112 mph that morning when there was no head wind. I am trying to find all the time slips just have so many can't find it. However underneath I am posting another time slip where I beat the chipped bmw 335 which my buddy did not happen to record! lol but again these are all runs with head wind. Enjoy friends! And I can't find the time slip for this video darn! but yeah i was consistently running 13.4s with all the head wind gawd I wish it was just not there
Can't find time slip to that video run but Link to another time slip for that night for Admin or whoever that can add my time into the 350z LIST if the video is not enough proof in the video I ran a 13.43@104.7

So the video is enough to post up the 13.43@104.7 run correct?

.......it was a while ago I believe. I just thought the HR guys needed more of a presence of people who actually race. Most HR guys seem content with just saying "HR is baby jebus's engine of choice" or dyno racing.

Franky65: For expedience.....post the pic on photobucket or flickr and post a direct link on here. It makes it easier for the mods. The video should suffice, but I'm not 100% sure.

^ Updating with your 13.43 time won't change your ranking. If you find the slip to that run, however, I will update.

I actually went to the drag strip last night also. I think my clutch is officially toast. It couldn't hold the power and just slipped in 2nd so I shifted into 3rd where it slipped again. However, I was able to make 2 good runs after sufficiently cooling down even with the shot clutch. Unfortunately, my car was too low on fuel on those 2 runs and fuel was cut several times throughout those runs (on the spray!!!). I still managed a 12.3 and a 12.2, but that doesn't change my ranking so I won't bother updating.

On the 12.373 run, my car actually turned itself off toward the end, so my power steering was lost and all dashboard warning lights turned on. I coasted through the end at 100.92 mph.

On the 12.288 run, I was even lower on fuel so more of them fuel cuts. I couldn't shift into 5th (it won't let me speed shift into it) so I think coasted for a bit while trying until I just shifted into 6th. My trap was only 107.12mph.

I think I could've pulled a 12.1 at the very least if everything had worked the way they were supposed to. I'm probably out for a while since I don't have the funds to get a new clutch.

I feel your pain.....I killed my OS w/o getting anywhere near where I think the car would have run. I knew it wasn't an optimal choice for drag, but was hoping it would hold my relatively limited power.

Yeah I have a lot of street racing videos, I think i'm going to chill with street racing and start going to the track more. I swear if there was no head wind I would have managed a 13.2 and would have been extremely happy but the conditions at the track went against me. I don't give props to my driving skills but simply give all the respect due to Nissan for making a beautiful piece of machinery the 350z!

Like 03z said I go to MIR or Cecil county dragway, I might be going to Cecil this Friday hopefully if there is no head wind, I want to really get a 13.2! If any of you guys want to come out to Cecil this weekend, let's go!~ MIR was fun i did not see many 350zs though there was one Gold 350z he ran a 14.63@96.24 even though his 60 foot was like a 2.2 the way he launched I was expecting low 14s from him due to the head wind. Any way that guy seemed kinda busy to talk so I didn't say anything to him. I would definitely like to go to the track with other Z owners. Yesterday there were 2 Bmw 335s both significantly modded, looked the exact same white color looked sick as hell lol were putting down good times 12.8s-13.4s@105-110s. Any way the DE 350z run is the last run against my friends Lexus IS F check it out.

I'd love to come but that is a 1:45 minute drive for me......too far. I was hoping I could break into 12.99 at Cecil in Dec, but it wasn't meant to be.........maybe in the spring. Cecil and MIR are two of the fastest tracks in the country....good luck.

Which OS Giken did you have?

I just have the Exedy Stage 1 Clutch kit that I got new about 3 years ago and I've abused it more than I probably should've at the strip. It literally has been through hell with all the passes I made.

Super Single......I got it primarily do to its very low weight(the whole assembly (flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate, and other pieces) only weighed 27 pounds) and supposed 400-430wtq rating. It is a fabulous clutch, but just not up to the rigors of hard launches. I put about 3k miles and 80ish 5500rpm launches on drag radials. I am planning on going over to a southbend 4 (metallic) or stage 5. The reason for the overkill is a potential move on to FI. A stiff clutch and harsh engagement is not a deterrent for me......I only put about 4-5k a year on the car.

My clutch kit (pressure plate and clutch) lasted me just under 3 years and about 52K. I literally have hundreds, if not thousands, of launches both on street tires and drag tires. My N/A launches were at past 6K on slicks and my nitrous launches were between 4K and 5K on ET Streets. I'm not looking forward to the clutch shopping I'll have to do.

I just hope I simply glazed over the clutch lightly and it goes away or fixes itself.

It's strange.....it holds fine through the 1st two gears, but as soon as I hit third it slips and never catches (through 4th). The rpms just go instantly to ~6300 and stay there.
