My Shanghai experience
Just got back from Shanghai - people are rude as hell and restaurants are dirty. Only rich people are clean. Service sux and you can smoke anywhere! I was walking and someone in front of my used his finger to block one of his nostrils and blew out chunks from the other nostril! Cool huh? We gave money to a few people who don't have hands and old women carrying babies that look homeless! The rich eat at restaurants that cost $100 per person just to sit down and the poor live off of less than .30 a day!
The traffic is insane and it takes an hour to get somewhere that's 5 miles away. I didn't see any Z's but there are tons of VW's (?) Don't ask me why. There are no rules when you drive except when there's an opening GO! Right when you walk outside you will see at least 10000 people, not kidding~
There are skyscrapers as far as the eye can see. I lived with my Mom's friend for a day and his house was on the 42nd floor overlooking the River (don't know the name but the one that runs thru the city). It was amazing at night, too bad my Dad didn't invest there 10 years ago because that apartment was bought for 100k and it's worth over 2mil now!
Everyone will try to cheat you, no matter what it is. Some guy was sitting on the side of the street trying to sell this ancient looking statue thing that looked like it was carved from ivory but when I got to my hotel and rinsed it off, it was fn' plastic! LOL - I bought it for like 8 bucks but he was trying to sell it for 50. Even the taxi drivers rip you off~ They start the meter before you get in so at the end you will pay more.
Some girl at the night market followed us for like 10 minutes trying to get us to buy knock off LV wallets/bags. We said we had to eat and she said she would wait outside for us! She was only like 16.
And girls will call your hotel room to ask if you want a "massage" but of course I didn't say yes. Who knows if they will bring someone to kill you! I will post pics when I get back but I GTG!

I've been to Shanghai 3 times in the last 5 years...it just seems to get more crowded each time I go. I leanred my lesson not to buy anything off the street the first time I went LOL...I don't miss the traffic and pollution, but I do miss all the hot Shanghaiese women
