i need help~
i just installed my dvd player and lcd screen.
first the fuse blew...now the cd player won't work. i have a stock hu and both dvd player and lcd screen is powered from the stock hu. i think i'm draining way too much power from it.
so...i've heard people getting their power for the dvd player from the cigarrette outlet. how do i do that? how do i open the rear glove box?
please help me!!

I think your diagnosis is correct.
As I recall...
You need to remove two side panels then pop the pannel that covers the glove box to gain access to the cigarrette lighter wires.
Then run a wire from whatever you are hooking up back to the wires and splice into them with whatever you got, soder works best. good luck hope this helps

Removing the rear panels is a pain in the ***. First, you have to pull up the weatherstripping sealer things around the doors, then pull the side panels (the seat belts go through them) and then the piece with the rear speakers on it, then the center console, then the panel with the lighter on it.

The only headaches are:
1) that they overlap eachother in almost every place imaginable. You will find yourself asking yourself "why the hell would they do that? That makes no sense at all!" and
2) they practically ALL have to come out. To access the cigarrette lighter it might appear that you have to remove the center console, but if you just remove the two screws on the sides of the back part of it (behind the seats) then you will have enough leverage to pull it up enough to slide the piece with the cigarrette lighter on it out of its place. Don't try and slide the cigarrette lighter piece out until all of the clips are removed.
Hope that helps.
Did anyone else have trouble getting the connector off of the lighter back there? I eventually had to cut the wires..I couldn't get the connector off the back no matter how hard I pulled.
