Default Dual amp installation?

I know that many people are installing an amp in the compartment behind the front seat, but where can I install the second amp? I want to run 2 10" woofers in the rear under the strut tower off one amp and the front speakers off the second one, and let the 2 rear amps behind the seats run off the head unit.

put em both back there?

the only problem with that is heat... it will be fine if your amps have fans built into them but if not the solution is a simple set of 12v computer fans which serve to move air around that compartment.

I placed one amp in the glove box (behing passenger seat) and the other in the compartment behind the driver seat. No heat issues for me either.

Or you can put them both (including the sub) in the spare tire well. (As long as you don't mind losing the spare.)

Mine's similar to rieters but my sub is closest to the back for better respone. I have enough room in the amp area to add 2 more XTANT X series amps if I like .

That picture is old as **** and the amp is the only thing that looks almost the same - lol. I've since added a big area of carbon fiber around the sub, I'm showing off my Boston Z6 crossovers, and leds and other rice stuff. As I said though, I can add 2 more amps where my current one is.

i have 3 amps in the 'bose compartment' behind the drivers seat. plenty of room back there. ahsmo's right about the cooling though, you'll need a fan for any amps that generate excessive heat.

If you don't care about your spare there is plenty of room in the trunk

I have one of my Zapco amps and a JL Audio 1000/1 in the compartment behind the driver's seat and have not experienced any heat issues.

For you people who have both amps in the same compartment behind the seats, do you still have the door to the compartment on or have you taken it off for air circulation.

I have JL 300/4 & JL 250/1 in the compartment behind the drivers seat. The cover already has holes from the old bose woofer. The amps seem to stay cool enough.

I can't tell if you still have the door for that compartment still on there, I was interested in wether you took it off for the amps to get circulation or you left it on to close the compartment when the seat is back up.

In my install I have the amps covered in a sealed area, and they don't overheat at all. I think it really depends on how much power you plan to pump out and how hot your amps get. What I've seen many people do in that area behind the driver is get the oem Bose subwoofer grill panel instead of the solid panel. This at least gives that area some holes to ventilate through, and it should just snap right on.
