Default Pioneer AVIC-N1/I-Pod compatible?

Will they work together? Please say there is a plug and play somehow.

So far Alpine is the only company that has an interface. As long as the stereo you have has RCA inputs you can use an I-pod. However, you will have to use the I-pod controls to change songs and stuff. I'm in the process of having an Alpine put in with the I-pod interface. I say, if you haven't bought your HU yet get an Alpine instead. :-)

pioneer is comming out with an ipod adapter soon. However you can still use the AUX input and just control the music using the ipod. Thats what I do with my older blaupunkt HU.

Is the sound quality any good doing that?

If the interface from Pioneer is anything like the one from Alpine(which it probably will be) then it will have a built in feature that increases music quality back to that of a CD. I listened to music played thru the Alpine interface and it sounds great!

the way i do it now it sounds great, thier is no interference or signal loss becuase its going through RCA's to the back of the HU. and with the pioneer adapter I bet it will be even better.

the AUX input will sound just fine, it is the same as hooking it up to a stereo at home (1/8" mini pin to 1/4" RCAs).

you will have to use the iPod to control it ... but it will be nice to have.
