Which panels to remove for Basslink install?
Anyone give some advice? Going to do this install, and I figured it would be a good idea to ask before. Anybody have any pictures etc....?
Thanks
Thanks
I removed:
In Engine Bay:
Battery cover
Plastic panel the battery cover attaches to
Passenger side compartment (in order)
door sill trim
plastic cover up under to the right where the wires come through the firewall.
piece behind the seat covering the seat belt and stretching into the rear hatch
Passenger seat (yeah, the seat)
Drivers Side:
Door sill trim
Piece behind seat covering seat belt stretching into the rear hatch area
Pull up the center console to free up the back panel with the glove box and stock sub panel cover.
I also removed the cover from the rear speakers and the piece behind the rear speakers
The rear carpet and all the pads and stuff back there.
Basically damn near everything.
It actually goes back together much easier than it came apart.
You'll have to pull up the carpet along the passenger side to run the power wire through the cable tray that's already there.
PM me and I"ll be happy to help

i didn't take either of my seats out and was able to work fine. but i'm used to being upside down working inside trunks and under dashboards. not gonna say you dont' have to contort into some interesting positions, but it's doable without removing the seats. i'm always paranoid about that. i scratched a customers' car once back in the day putting the seats back in. not good... good luck with the install!

Yeah, I would take both seats out if I were doing it again but I didn't this time. What in the world is that electrical connection for? I don't have power anything (or airbags) in my seats and couldn't imagine what it could be for.
It may be for sensors that tell if there is a person in the seat. That way if there isn't anyone (or there is a pet or baby or something in the seat less than 35 lbs) then the airbags won't go off.
