paperclip ideas
Two ideas I've had for this forum that I think would be helpful as sticky notes:
- An FAQ post. A lot of new people ask questions that have been answered here hundreds of times. Such as 1) can stock head unit be used with amps? Size of stock speakers? What choices there are for putting in subs and sub locations? etc, etc. Yes, people can just run searches through past archive postings, but they will likely wind up with hundreds of hits that are difficult to sort through for the answer.
- A "Reviews" Post. So many people have already bought and tested most of the models from the major manufacturers. Some have wasted money getting something that either didn't sound right, perform right or didn't look right in the 350Z. I use reviews and opinions from other sites in buying decisions. It would be helpful here.
We have a wealth of knowledge on this site. A lot of it in previous postings but even moreso in the minds of the members. Let's tap into it.

Trending Topics
That's why I think they should be paper-clipped so they don't vanish. But then again a threaded discussion might not be the best place for this since lot of superfluous stuff gets added in discussions.
Maybe it would be better to make a whole new sub-forum for things like this. I wish postings could have sub-directories like e-mail or file directories. Would be nice to have a forum for reviews, with sub-forums for Head unit, Amplifiers, components, etc. Then a number of postings in each area by model/manufacturer.

Not yet. But I will collect my thoughts and look over the possibilities (based on how the other threads seem to work on this board) and then e-mail him. I would hate for them to institute something like this and then nobody use it though....
Another thing that might annoy me is getting unbiased reviews from people. A lot of people I've known seem to think their stuff is the best simply because they have it... and spent their hard earned $$. I'm wondering how many people would critisize their equipment. I know I would..most of what I have bought in the past has had some seious issues.
Another issue might be people blaming the wrong component in their system. Like someone might say their Eclipse HU sounds like *&%(* when it is really their amp, speakers, or setup.
Unless the person doing the review has a lot of experience with car audio, it's hard to do a review. I'd be down to post reviews of what I've had/have.
I'll see if I can dig up links too. I know there's a how-to website for installing car audio.

I found most if not all of these articles informative
there is a calculator in there that will tell how a sub will perform in a box like f3 data which I found invaluable
Ive also got a diagram on how to bridge a 4 channel with mids and highs if someone wants to host that

there are better forums dedicated to audio out there, to find reviews and info from true professionals. But I still think this 350z forum is unique because we all share the same limitations and possiblities that our car affords. People come here looking for equipment that not only performs well, but also matches the color scheme and lighting of the interior and fits the sometimes narrow dimensions of our mounting locations.
