Im a noob when it comes to car audio. I have an 05 enthusiast and wanted to redo my whole stereo system. Im not trying to win competitions, i just want something that sounds REALLY good. I wanna keep it as close to a stock look as possible though. Maybe just replacing the stock speaker locations and maybe having the amps mounted under the seats. I also want to do like a double din with a head unit and a multi format media player (i.e. dvd, wma, mp3,..not nav though) Could you guys give me some some good speaker, amp, in dash media player, and maybe a aftermarket screen that will mount where the stock nav is. TIA
What is your budget?

Replace your front speakers with 6 1/2" components 2 way. There are a lot of good
brands out there. It is advisable to go out and listen to different brands at a store
so you know what sound you like, ex. with silk or titanium tweeters. Good brands for
speakers are DLS,Focal,Seas Lotus,Morel,CDT,MB Quart,Alpine F1,Rainbows etc....
Also put some sound deadening in the front doors and use atleat an 100 x 2 watts rms amp to it. I got the DLS Iridiums 6.2
Subs: There's a guy here that does a custom box that fits under the rear strut.
You can get a single or double sub box. It's up to you. And again put some of the
sound deadening in the trunk too to avoid rattling when you turn up that bass.
Good brands: Image Dynamics, JL Audio, OZ Audio, Focal, Elemental Design, etc...
I think the biggest size you can put under the strut will be 10" subs so maybe get
2 of them. I'm using the Image Dynamics IDv3 10 inch.
Amps: You can go with two channel or 4 channel amp. With 2 channel you can put them behind the seats or under the seat. You have to be aware of the profile of the seat (space underneath) and take that into consideration when you look for an amp/amps. ex. Zapco, Arc Audio makes small amps. Mine are the TRU 2.100.

Juyz,
I want nice stuff to go in my baby so i dont really have a set budget. But i dont want to pay more for stuff than i have to. If I didnt go with the kenwood or Eclipse unit, could I have just a monitor in the stock nav spot. And 2 single din sources (audio HU and Multimedia player hu ) mounted where the stock cd player is??? And If you were strictly replacing stock speaker locations, what speakers would you run? Do you think i could get away without running a sub? Thanks for the replies.

Read this thread and look about halfway down about where zando2max has to say to buy them from. Its a military website that sells them for $899 shipped with no taxes but you or someone you know has to be in the armed forces. If not from there then it can be had at several places for around $1050.

DLS Iridiums 6.2 their really nice. It has awesome tonal quality. Impressive
imaging and staging. This will cost about $750 retail, $525 online

But i suggest you to go to your local stereo shops and audition some
speakers coz each brand sound different. Look for a shop that carries
high end brands like boston acoustics, focal, cdt,mb quart, etc...
If u dont go with double din, yes you can get two HU and a monitor.
I only have an 2 way front and sub setup though. You might want have
an 5.1 system for your dvd system. If not you could start with the front
components, HU's, monitor and amp and add the rest later.
