some questions about connecting amp.
hi.
i have some questions before i start buying stuff.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
is 18' of wire enough to run from battery to glovebox behind the passenger seat?
what kind of wires do i use for connecting the subs within the enclosure? and from the subs to the amp? (1200w amp with 2 dvc4 subs if it makes any difference)
i will be using the understrutbar box from ebay which has .75 cubic feet of airspace. sealed. and i will be using 2 10" subs that needs at least .4 cubic feet of air space. so obviously im a little out of space. so i was thinking about using polyfill in the box. how much do i have to use?
i have to use the stock HU (non-bose) for a few month until i get an aftermarket hu. i was looking at David's line converters and still don't know which one to get. which one do i need? i need the one that goes between stock HU (non-bose) and sub amp. here is a link to david's site.

and finally, is it ok to run all the wires on the same side of the car? i heared about some people getting noise because the rca and power wire was too close together. is this an issue?
thank you for your time.

2) 2 subs each needs .4? .4+.4=.8 box only .75 why do you need poly fill?
3) cant help you with non bose, but if your amp takes speaker wire input you can just cut into the rear's.
4) i ran my power on the passenger side and the rca and remote under the arm rest to the glow box in the back then out to the trunk, no drilling you will find holes there.

thank you for your input.
im just concerned about the airspace.
.75 available space in the box VS. .80 the least amount of air space recommended.
are you saying that i don't need any polyfill? i just thought it could help.
maybe im not understanding right about polyfills. would it make any difference if i put some in the box?
thx. -john-
Go with 4 gauge wires if your amp will take them.. and either get yourself an aftermarket deck, or go get an RCA convertor from best buy or circuit city.. that way you will at least have some sub pre-outs to connect your RCA's to.. it is a cheap part, maybe 12.99 or so..

Copper-sent you a PM
As far as polyfill goes, i always reccomend a little polyfill because a sub companies "specs" are doen by engineers with math, etc...not the same as when you actually are in the car....the rule of thumb for poly is 1 lb per cu.ft. I would put a bag or two in there, it will slow your airwaves/soundwaves down and give you lower tones in your music (from my experiences with it)..hope that helps..if you dont like to sound with polyfill, take it out.. its only a buck or two per bag so give it a shot.
