What's the best high end HU that integrates the I-Pod? I don't like the idea of an FM modulator - but rather a hardwired connection to guarantee fidelity. I'd like a HU that has a DVD screen integrated as well, with the I-pod compatibility feature....suggestions?

 

Kenwood 7105 has adapter for Ipod now.

I just got the alpine iva-3000 it is a greaat HU and the ipod integratoin is solid. The UI takes a little getting used to, but the sound is great

 

for those with Alpine HU and Ipod hooked up...what's your EQ setting on your ipod and for alpine? do you leave on MX? no matter how i set the damn thing, ipod sound horrible. help me!

 

I leave my ipod set to 'Flat'. Used some of the others, but they sucked. By the way, I hate the interface for my HU. Think it got better with the newer Alpine's, but if you have mine, don't do it. I think I'm gonna get the Kenwood and their Ipod hookup later this summer...

IVA-D300...I'm pretty sure no matter what settings you are using on your I-POD the HU will overwrite them. I just use my HU to change the genre tuning, also, I use the Media X-Pander which makes it sound worlds better.

 

is there differences between I-Pod interface for alpines and just monster cable hooked up to the hu? that's what i have and it sounds really bad. some people said it sounds like cd quality...imo not even close. i have alpine cda-7398, which is an older model.

 

I just installed the Monster ICruz to the stock non bose, non sat HU. I prefer the Alpine set up I had in there before, but that is going in my G35 once I have all the components. It works and sounds good enough. The playlists on the IPOD emulate discs 1-6 as if it was a cd changer.

 

I just ran some RCA cables from the back of my Eclipse nav unit to ipod in the stock navigation area. The other end of the cables was just a headphone jack. The sound is amazing and sounds cd quality. Its got kinda a stealth look to it since the ipod is just sitting in the nav area with an xm received behind that.
