Default Need suggestions on power inverter for ps2...

OK I got the screen, radio and playstation hooked up. I go and power up the inverter and all I hear is a buzzing sound from the speakers. The audio works but it is distorted like crazy. I put the converter on the passanger side near the speaker. Is that what is causiing my problem. Is the location of the power effect the audio? Do I need a filter or to just relocate? Here Is what I have hookep up. Alpine 9851 I think, PS2 and farenheit 7001 screen. Help me get rid of the distortion.

My power converter is mounted under the glove box, under that little panel that comes off. I haven't had any noise problems at all with my setup.

You think that it may be cause by the location of the PS2? I heard that it may cause problems if too close to speakers or headunit

how are you wireing the invertor? Just plugging it through the cig lighter or hardwireing it?

From what ive been told. The PS2 is what may be causing the problemo due to its location. The inverter is hooked and powered by the battery.

unplug the PS2 and just turn on the invertor by it self. If its still there the invertor is the issue if its not then the PS2 is the issue. Where is the PS2 located?

ive had it there before in previous cars. Try swapping out with a differnet brand invertors. My uncle had an issue with his invertor it caused some buzzing, it ended up just being a cheap invertor. The filter everyone says to use is a ground loop filter.

Most likely its the inverter. I'm having the same issue powering my cpu. A good test is run an extension cord to your car and hook up the playstation to regular power. No Buzz... then you've found the problem. I've heard some inverters are better than others. I've heard that the Coleman product is excellent - No buzz.

walk into radio shack and tell them i need a 10amp power filter to be used in a car. its like $15. the cig ligher isnt a great place to tap into. there are a bunch of other circuits running off it and you will end up with a lot of noise and interference. run it straight off the battery and make sure you have use a thick ground wire grounded to good spot on the car.

and inveter with some sort of noise filtration is another good way. spend the extra bucks on a good inverter.
