Default Alarm goes of every 30 minutes...

... like clockwork. Its one of those Viper alarms that uses the OEM remotes and installs on top of the OEM system. To my knowledge, these alarms don't have a timer, so whats up with that? I can time it with a stop watch. Set my alarm, wait 30 minutes, and WHAM! It goes off.

Ideas?

I would suggest maybe PM'ing member big-al, since he's an expert at alarms, alarm installs, etc. Hopefully he can offer some insight into this...

What I would do is remove each trigger individually until you find out what is triggering the alarm. Basic triggers include:

Door pin
hood pin
rear hatch pin
shock sensor
various other sensors

If you hooked the alarms trigger up to the dome light I would bet that that is your problem, but that is just a hunch.

I took it to the place they installed it, and when I told them it was going off every 30 minutes like clockwork, he seemed to recognize what it was. He said some cars do a check every 30 minutes, electronic I guess, which triggers the alarm (false trigger) fooling one of the sensors. He said to bring it in and leave it for a couple of hours. They would set the alarm, let it go off, check which sensor was triggered, and rewire something.
