I just purchased a pioneer nav unit and i was wondering where you guys put your gps antennas ? I know some of you guys put in the center of dash between the vents by the windshield. How about putting it under the third brake light ? or in the trunk under the strut bar or inside if possible ???

I put mine on the dash between the defrost vents. I wanted it inside and that looked to be the best view of the sky.

 

I put mine Avic N1 on the passenger side of dashboard. It looks OEM.

 

Will it still work through plastic ? like under the dash or in the strut bar ? or under the brake light ?

 

Where is the location of the antenna installed by the dealer?

 

I have mine under the plastic cover on the rear strut bar. It's easy to pop off, can't be seen, and is directly under the glass so you get a good signal. It sticks on the metal since it's magnetic--don't even need to use the magnetic pad it came with

 

The OEM location is located in front of the instrument pod underneath the dash...let me see if I can find a pic of the location.
