Default Ipod To Mp3: Need Help!

I am new at this, I have burned over 200 songs (albums ) in iTunes. I just purcased Roxio 8 for MP3's , cd's etc.

I want to convert my iTunes into MP3's so I don't always need to have my iposd in the car.

How do I do it? under Roxio, you have a selection to select cds to mp3 format.

Any help would be great!

My iPod tunes are in MP3 ... depending if you have a Mac or a PC I'm thinking you've got different formats to convert from. There's plenty of conversion programs about that will do batch conversions of one format to another.

I have a Compaq Presario. I moved the tunes over to the Roxio, but it will burn to the cdr as a regular cd.

When I convert the cd to Mp3 then it is compressed.

When you rip a song from a CD using iTunes I believe it defaults to AAC format. All you need to do in iTunes to convert that to MP3 is right click on the song to get the menu, and it will have the option to "Convert to MP3". If it says "Convert to AAC" you need to go into the preferences and change it - can't remember exactly where that is located - i have a Mac and its a little different - if you had a Mac you could just use Finder the get it...haha. You can also select a bunch of songs and do them all at once.

THe bottome line is that you can convert from AAC to MP3 in iTunes - and it is really easy to do.

Default mp3 from ipod

You need to do this via iTunes on ur computer.

First go into preferences:Burning and select the typ eof cd u will burn...in your case mp3...not audio

then go ahead and and make a playlist for burning......and burn away

That will not help him. All it will do is rip his CDs into mp3 format from now on. He wants to convert his existing collection from AAC to mp3.

Randy, follow Paul's advice. There are dozens of free AAC-->mp3 convertors on the web. Also, as another member suggested, iTunes itself might do it. I never tried since I changed the default to mp3 when I first installed it. So if it doesn't, just Google AAC to mp3 convertors.

Default AAC to MP3

Here's a way....will take time for large collection

There will be little quality loss......

Burn your AAC to audio disks...them import them from the audio, back into itunes as MP3.....

Like I said..if it's a large connection this may not be viable.

OK, I changed it in preferences, I was able to burn it to the cdr, however, when I burned it and played it in my avn, the artist and album names did not come up--what do I need to do?

Go here:HERE and download this program. It will convert the aac or just about whatever you have to mp3. I think its $20 if you want to buy it, if not I'm sure you can find the crack/serial online. You can use it without buying it of course, but its a trial period.
